One more May outing. Memorial Day!
Nels was still recovering from surgery, but I wanted to take the kids on an adventure. So we headed to Nashville. Our first stop was Fannie Mae Dees Park or more well known as Dragon Park. There is a huge tiled dragon. The kids enjoyed climbing on it and finding cool art.
We found a cat and dog.
Monkey and elephant.
Horsey!
Guitar for Nels.
We had fun climbing and taking pictures.
There was also a "normal" playground next to it with slides and swings.
We found a giraffe hiding in the trees.
Also a tunnel...
It was hot and we did our best to have fun. But like many other parks in middle Tennessee this one was older and run down. We miss our Geneva, IL parks and playgrounds!
Then we went to Bobbie Dairy Dips for ice cream. Soft serve ice cream then you can dip it if you want to.
Sofie got chocolate and Noah got vanilla.
Isak got a twist of vanilla and chocolate dipped in cherry.
Kira got vanilla dipped in chocolate.
They really enjoyed the ice cream.
Then we went to Shelby Bottoms Nature Center. We had to use a smelly and disgusting port a potty. It was so gross. But we all needed to go...so...we did.

Then we walked on the paved trail and a dirt trail along the river and explored. It was fun.
Then we got hot and tired and headed back to the car. We stopped to play on the big slide and saw a snake!! That was quite eventful.
We got home and Nels grilled us some brats. We ate them with mac and cheese and beans. I enjoyed our adventure with the kids. Ups and Downs, but I'm glad we made a new memory together.

That dragon park looks really cool. The ice cream shop sounds yummy! I'm glad that you are in the pictures too, Becky!
