September Little Moments

September Moments...
I thought we might get to go to the woods, make a fire and make some s'mores some time this summer.  But it just didn't happen.  So we did the next best thing...s'mores at home.  One Sunday after dinner we got out our marshmallows and sticks and grilled them.
The kids were pretty excited about it.
Ta Da.  Happy campers.  :)
I like doing the fudge striped cookies with the marshmallows...so here's our finished product.
School picture day.

Aren't they so cute and sweet??
Nels was gone for a full week this September.  So we made a chain to count down the days.  Each of the kids decorated their strip with coloring and stickers.

I took all four to church by myself.  I think that's a first for me.  Here's a quick before picture with Isak before we dashed out the door.
All buckled and praying on the way to church.  Sofie is so funny.
We also went for a walk.  I sent this picture to Nels with the kids saying, "Hi dad, we miss you!"
Folding lots of laundry.  The kids like to "help" me.
Isak helped me with the pancakes.  All of the kids tried really hard to be good and helpful the whole time Nels was gone.  I was amazed and grateful!
I sent pictures to Nels of the kids eating pancakes.  He likes to know we are eating and happy.

We did ice cream for Sunday.  Sofie loves it.  ðŸ˜€
New painting with water book.  The boys worked together.
And the girls worked together.

Front door mat with my boots.
Isak lost his front tooth while Nels was gone.  He lost it at school!  Mrs. Spence from Kindergarten actually pulled it out for him!  He was so happy.  Here's the note from the tooth fairy.
Antics with Sofie and Noah, while we waited for the bus stop.

Another bus stop day.  Sofie loves these Elsa pajamas.  After school, she changes into them for the rest of the day.
Kira and Sofie love to make beaded bracelets.
The hardest times when Nels was gone was bedtime.  Noah has been struggling with staying in his bed to fall asleep at night.  After I snuggled with Isak and Kira for a few minutes, I found him in their doorway asleep.
Sofie's passionate about playdough.
Isak loves math and he's practicing adding large numbers for fun.
At curriculum night for Isak and Kira, I saw the project they worked on.  "Who am I?" with clues.  Here's Isak's.  He wants to be an engineer.  He likes math and the color orange. And he has fun at PE.
And here's his self portrait.
Here's Kira's.  She wants to be a mom.  She likes PE and art and pink.  She's 6 and a half.  She likes first grade because it's so so fun.  :)  When I saw this apple among all the other apples in the class, I knew this was Kira's.
Here's her self portrait.  She even did her two colored eye!
Nels's car was parked outside and before the kids got on the bus they wanted a picture in front of "daddy's car."
This picture was taken from my upstairs bedroom window.  Just the kids and Nels having fun together.
Sneaking in popsicles before the weather gets cold.

Kira's writing and drawing...."I like how Jesus created the earth for me because there is parks and trees and butterfly's and houses to live in and play in."
"I just like rain with bows" says the flower.
"Ha ha! Funny joke flower" says the horse.  See the bows on the rainbow??  :)
Kira loves to find matching outfits for her and Sofie to wear.  They looked so cute just looking out the window with their horses.

Noah loves the hot wheel tracks!  He can play for a long time.  Yay!
Sofie asks regularly for two braids, like Anna. (from Frozen).  Her hair is very short and thin.  This is the best I can do.  But I think she looks so cute!
I'm continuing to learn coding.  Here's a project I worked on this last month.
That code makes this app...
It's a wait time app.  So people can know how long the wait is for baptisms.  It only has the Utah temples.  The only functionality on it so far is a filter by...example: you can put in M and all temples with M will show up.  And then there's a hide/show image button.  It was fun to work on, but of course it's not finished.

We watched The Wizard of Oz with the kids.  It took two sittings to get through the whole movie.  Popcorn, blanket and snuggle time with the kids--my favorite.
I was happy to find an introductory code book for kids at the library.
This book was fun to read with the kids too.  Another STEM type of book.
I really liked this ...give yourself time.  Time to change, time to grow, time to learn, time to live in each stage.
play dough art.  Sofie and Kira ask, "please take a picture before we put it away."
Matching dinosaur shirts.  Roar.
Sofie and Kira matched too.  I love Sofie's pigtails.
Sofie's facial expression says, "Ah, it's so exciting"   😀
Little helper.
Kira's cute shadow with braided pigtails.
On walk...the kids saw this bench and asked for a picture.  Sure.
Finally emptied one of our last moving boxes.  The kids "decorated" it.
Mismatch day.  Kira did pretty well with it.
Another random place that Noah fell asleep....
Sofie and Noah love Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Night time prayers.  I just thought it looked sweet.
Another play dough art...cute popsicles.
Isak was trying to scare me hiding under blankets.
Nels was so sweet.  When he came back from his trip, he let me treat myself to lunch alone at Panera bread.  I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and a steak sandwich.  So yummy.  I tried to replicate it later at home.
Enjoying some warm weather.  Isak played a little soccer.
Noah ran his truck around.
Nels's mom sent these clothes that Nels wore as a kid.  So cute...

And here's some suits.  I bet Nels looked very handsome in them.
Kira and Sofie made this castle for their horses.
I was eating my lunch and Sofie was doing her puzzle next to me.  She sang "Let it go" while she put the Frozen puzzle together.  She seemed so happy and content.
Another castle, Sofie built it by herself and it's for Elsa and Anna.
Noah loves this vtech train set.
This rose bush has brought me so much joy this year.  I see it out my kitchen window while I'm doing dishes.  It bloomed all summer and fall.
I love the color!
Shadows...me and Sofie on our walk.
I think my list making is rubbing off on Kira.  I found this..."List for Saturday. By Kira Nyborg"
"I want to play the hatcnhimal game!  I want to snuggle with mommy and I want to color and make cards and I want to go to a new park!  I want to make a card for grandma"  Pretty good list.  I tried to help accomplish her goals.
I saw these unicorn cupcakes in the store and couldn't help buying them for our Sunday treat.  Someone was pretty excited about unicorn cupcakes!
This is Noah and his bus.  He plays with this bus for long periods of time.  He walks around and around the coffee table.  So cute.
This is typically what I eat for lunch.  Chicken, spinach, lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, cheese, avocado (if I have it) and a pear on the side.  I have different dressings, but it's usually ranch or poppyseed.  It's my favorite lunch right now.
Just twirling around together.
Isak was proud of his recipe he made for leftover night.  Pancakes with meatballs and bananas.
Kira just had the pancakes and a separate bowl of bananas.  Look at that dimple!  ðŸ˜€
Aw, spaghetti.  Noah and Sofie love spaghetti.  It's not my favorite.  But I make it because they love it.  I really don't like cleaning up the mess afterwards!!!
It's a good thing they are cute! haha!
That's all for September.
A low key month.  Getting back into school routines, enjoying any warm day that came our way and just enjoying little moments.  Nothing big happened this month.  I'm okay with that.  It was nice to just do simple things.
