February Happenings

Here are the pictures from February:
Isak loves to drink dad's smoothies.  He gets the cutest mustache afterwards too.
One warm day we loaded the kids up for a bike ride.  It almost looks like they are holding hands, but they aren't.
Isak doesn't look to sure about it, but Kira looks happy.
Oh Kira.  She loves to be outside. Isn't she just angelic??
"Yep, I am the man of the playground."  Isak walks around like he owns the place.  :)

Kira gives the biggest smiles and laughs while she is swinging.
Kira would often look over at Isak to see if he was having as much fun as she was.
Isak smiling.
A few more of Kira.

Just love this smile!
One weekend we went to Chik-fil-a.  Kira drank from the straw.
We went shopping to buy Nels some clothes.  I was in charge of entertaining the babies.  This is what we look like rollin' through the mall.  Ah!  Watch out!
Playing with the ipad.

Nels sportin' the bow tie he purchased during our shopping trip.  He tied it himself.  :)  It is not a clip on or a pre-tied bow tie.  He watched some instructions on YouTube and presto!
One day Kira could not fall asleep for a nap time. So I put her in the bouncy seat.  I thought she would climb out but within a few minutes she was fast asleep.  Reminded me of when she was a baby.
This was from a year ago.  How they have changed!!
The week of Valentine's Day snow came in abundance!

We stayed in pajamas the whole day and enjoyed soup.  Look at these cute babies!
Yes they drop goldfish on the floor and then eat them..
Since we didn't get to do any shopping for Valentine's day the babies worked with what we had...paper.  We cut out hearts and wrote down nice things about Daddy.
Like:  He reads to us, he snuggles with us, he gets out all of our giggles, he shares his smoothies with us and more. :)  Nels liked it.
And I am officially caught up!!!  I will have to take some more pictures soon!  Until then, have a fantastic day!!

January Goals

So in January I made a Long list of goals, really just things to do for the month of January.  I make a big list because when I have free time my mind goes blank...so I refer to my list and then I choose something to do. I know I am weird.  :)
Anyways here's a few things I was able to do.
I crocheted the babies each a hat.

I love the pom poms on Kira's hat.

We went outside and Kira knee walked all the way out to the middle of the yard.  Isak just stayed on the patio.  Eventually he went on the grass.  Last summer they were afraid of the grass.  But they are not anymore!

I cooked vegetables.  Nels thought he was going to die.  haha.  We tried eggplant.  I think it has potential, but I did not cook it well.  I loved the red and orange peppers though.
I painted my fingernails.  I even went a little crazy and did one nail a different color.  haha.  It doesn't take much to make my life exciting. :)

I made a TON of muffins.  Blueberry oatmeal and Banana Whole Wheat.  Seriously, like 4 or 5 dozen!

Worked out 4-5 times a week to my new work out buddy Jillian Michaels.  I purchased her Body Revolution system.  I love that each work out is 30 minutes.  I love that it has variety and gets progressively harder.  Overall, I really enjoy it.  One negative though is that she cusses often.  I wish she wouldn't do that.
I made quiet book pages.  Hooray!
And last I read the entire January Ensign.  I realized I had never really read an Ensign cover to cover.  So everyday I read one article.  I loved it!  I actually learned a few different things.  Here's some of my favorite articles:
Face the Future with Faith and Hope- I learned about replacing fear with faith, what it means to do my part, and to seek the kingdom of God first.
Of Saints, of Ships, and of the Sea--This was just a neat article about scriptural references to ships and the seas.  Here's a quote, "Thanks to these inspired innovations (mentioned previously in the article), the speed, ease, and safety of ocean travel reached a high point from 1845 through 1860, precisely when improved transportation would aid missionaries in spreading the gospel and help Latter-day Saints gather to Zion."  I had never thought about that.  Amazing.  Very insightful article.
The Healing Power of Grief--This gave me a different perspective on grief.  Two quotes. This one is actually from Isaiah 53:4 "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows."  "It is important for us to understand that one can feel both sadness and peace at the same time."  Great article if you are dealing with loss or grief or know someone who is so you can better help them.
The Salt of the Earth--I learned where the word salary comes from.  Also salt prevents decay, makes things last and enhances flavor.  I loved how the article applied that to the gospel in our lives.
Choosing to Forgive--Loved this quote. "Scholarly studies showed that choosing to forgive leads to better health, increased optimism, and better relationships with others."

Well, maybe this will encourage you to pick up the Ensign and read some of the articles.:)  I am grateful for the time I was able to spend reading and studying it.

So that is what I have been up to lately.  Next up February!

January Happenings

It's been a while.  I guess I just haven't been in the blogging mood.  January seems like the longest month ever! Then February zoomed by and now it's March 1st!!  So I figured it was time to step it up and post some things. :)
These are very random.
But here are my cute kids reading books.
They seriously spend 15-20 minutes just flipping through the books.  Isak started to say, "da, da, da" and point to pictures as he "reads."  Kira is doing that every once in a while too.  She likes to point to eyes.
Kira loves to snuggle with all of the stuffed animals.
Isak and his jeep.  And what else?  He's holding a blue spatula.  He carried it around for several days.
One Sunday morning as we were getting ready for church I gave Isak the car keys to keep him occupied.  But he totally cracked me up and I had to get a picture.
He has one set of keys in his mouth, another in one hand and a piece of toast in his other hand.  Then he moved his head side to side so the keys would jingle.  Haha.
I just thought the kids looked cute in these clothes.  Isak is wearing a cougar shirt from my sister Mandi and I love Kira's tutu pants.  Isak is holding his yellow mallet.  He loves that thing!
 Funny faces.
 Silly babies.
 Doing the same cheesy grin.
Ah!  Dinner time!  Not my favorite time.  But it's not always like this.
Kira is trying to cheer him up.  Such a good sister.
Success, that's a little grin from Isak.  Kira has a huge grin with her cute dimples.
I captured Isak sleeping with his lamb named "Moose."  I accidentally called the lamb a moose.  We have a moose stuffed animal too.  Anyways the name stuck.  Moosey the lamb.
 Isn't he a little angel.

So tall.  I need to remember to take some of Kira sleeping too!
One night Isak ended up like this.  One sock on, one sock off.  He was so happy and just walked around talking and swinging his arms around.
 More snuggling for Kira.
Bath time fun.  These two make me laugh.
Just splashing and having a good ol' time.
 Big Smiles.
In January it SNOWED!  And Kira stood at the window watching white snowflakes fall to the ground.
Isak woke up and watched too.

 Another snuggling picture.

Isak woke up so happy one day.  So I took a picture.
 Kisses from Moosey.
Going for a ride on his Jeep.
That's all.
