Smile

The following pictures are random and they are just ones that make me smile and help me remember what they were like at 2 months old.
I loved these Mickey and Minnie Mouse sleepers.
I like this owl outfit that a friend gave to us.
Wrapped up and ready for nap time.

Kira's wink and a smile. :)
Kira in her car seat already for church.
Haha.  Kira's face just makes me smile and laugh!
haha...same with this one.
And this one!
Don't their faces say, "Oh, I'm not an only child?"
I love these babies!

Waking Up

Kira was so cute waking up one day.  I couldn't help but take a few pictures.   :)
Stretch Kira:
One arm forward:

Both arms up!
All done..."Can I go back to sleep now?"

Kira also slept with her arms raised.  Nels said she was directing a choir in her sleep.  It does kind of look like that.

Tummy Time and Rolling Over

Wrapping up January!
Kira rolled over from her tummy to her back fairly early.  I think she did on accident most of the time.  When Isak did tummy time he would either cry or fall asleep.

Aren't they cute?!
I can't put them that close together anymore though!
One day, out of the blue, Isak decided to roll over from his tummy to his back.  Somehow I was able to capture the sequence on camera.

Melissa and Abby's Visit

A week in January my sister Melissa and her daughter Abby came to visit.  I'm so glad they came. It was so fun.  We spent a lot of time holding and feeding babies.  :)  Surprise, surprise.  But we did get out one afternoon and ate some frozen yogurt at Yo Sweetz.
Here's a few pictures:
It's a cute little place.
Lots of choices and you can mix the flavors and add mix ins..
Abby, Me, and Isak.

Melissa...she makes me laugh.
All of us:
Me holding Isak.
Melissa smiling.

Abby was so sweet.  She is really good with the babies.  She wanted to feed them all the time, even in the middle of the night and early morning!  Abby changed their diapers, held them, fed them and danced around entertaining them.  We miss you Abby! :)  Melissa did alll the above too. ;)

Nels watched the babies on Saturday and we toured Memphis.  We ate the best ribs at Rendezvous, saw the ducks at the Peabody Hotel, walked along the Mississippi river and drove by Elvis's house.  One of my favorite nights was playing Telestrations.  We laughed so hard!
Thanks Melissa and Abby for taking the time to come visit.  You were wonderful and I loved being with you both!

Mandi's Visit

My sister Mandi came to visit for a week in January.  We had a great time.  Of course, a lot of the time was spent feeding and holding the babies.  Mandi helped me take the babies to their 2 month appointment.  Isak and Kira both got shots.  Ouch!  I'm so glad Mandi was here to help me with them.  Isak got a fever and Kira was fussier than usual.  One night Mandi made delicious chicken manicotti.

On Saturday, Nels watched the babies and Mandi and I did some sightseeing.  We went to Memphis and ate at BB Kings.  Then we went to the Peabody Hotel, walked along the Mississippi River and did a drive by of Elvis's house.  We took pictures with Mandi's camera so I only have a few that I took at home with my iPad.

Wonderful Mandi snuggling with Isak:

 Snuggling with Kira:
Thanks for coming Mandi!!!! I loved talking and hanging out with you!!!  You are amazing!

A Sequence of Pictures

I love this sequence of pictures.  I made owl hats and loved seeing the babies in them.  My mom, Jenny and I decided to do a little photo shoot one night.  Ninety percent of the time Kira is an angel.  She rarely cries, so the pictures below catch her at a rare moment of crying.  Isak on the other hand cried more often those first few weeks.  So the below pictures of him was a rarity as well.

Isak and Kira:
Obviously Kira was not happy.  Isak may be thinking, cool a photo shoot.
Kira,"maybe if I close my eyes they'll go away."
Kira, "It's not working."  Isak, "Mom, do you see Kira??"

Isak, "I'm getting worried mom.  I think Kira's really mad"
 Isak, "Mom, Help!"
Hahaha!  I love these babies!
Note:  We stopped and comforted poor Kira.  All was well.

2 Months Old

January 11 the babies turned 2 months old.  It seems so long ago.  Especially since I just got done taking 5 month old pictures today.  Hopefully it doesn't take 3 months before you see those pictures!

At 2 months old Isak weighed 9 lbs 11 oz and was 23 inches tall.

We love our Isak boy.  He was just learning to smile at 2 months.  His main form of communicating was very loud crying.  He would cry over every little thing, which was quite the contrast from his sister.  So we felt amazing whenever we earned a smile from Isak. :)
 So tall!
Kira weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and was 21 inches tall at two months.

She's a little sweetie and sooooo patient.  Her main form of communicating was by grunting.  Little sounds that we really had to pay attention to.  Her dimpled smile is adorable and melts your heart every time.  She was an incredibly slow eater.  She would take FOREVER.  Thank goodness she's more efficient now. :)

Number 2 is on the block.
For the next picture, it's not Isak's fault he's crying.  His mean mom woke him up from his nap to get the picture.
I love Kira's face in this one.  Isak was trying to sleep through it.  Oh so sweet.
And then we called it a day...I think both babies were relieved. :)
