Our Jackson Hole Getaway, Day 1

Nels and I went on a little getaway to Jackson Hole.  The babies stayed behind and played with Grandma, Grandpa and Jenny.  My sister Kari and her family also came up to visit.  So Kira and Isak got to play with more cousins.  We really appreciate everyone's help and allowing us to getaway.

Here's a few pictures of what the babies did while we were gone.
Kira met her cousin Sadie.  Sadie is about 13 months older than the twins.
They got to eat at the little kids table instead of high chairs.
They seem to be enjoying it.
The twins loved Jared, Kari's husband.  They just wanted to snuggle with him.
And Kira found a hat she liked and just wanted to wear it around.
 haha.  What a cutie!
Thanks everyone for taking such good care of them.

So what did Nels and I do??
First we went to the Rexburg temple and did sealings since it was our anniversary...11 years!!
It was pretty bright outside so we are squinting.

Then we headed to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to see these gorgeous Teton Peaks.
Our fun began when we sat in our blue rented Jeep and went exploring.  First up, was the most photographed barn in the world (according to the girl at the Jeep rental place), on a road called Mormon Row.
It was pretty spectacular.
And even better with the Jeep in the pic. haha.
Nels was pretty pumped to go off roading in the Jeep.  And by the end of the trip I was ready to buy one and go Jeepin' all of the time.  It was a blast.
So a lot of the pictures you'll see are of us, the Jeep and mountains.

Kissy, kissy.
Beautiful country, don't you think?

On our way back from Mormon Row we saw 3 buffalo along the road.  They were huge!
We went to the shootout in town square and took our pics with the arch of antlers.

We thought about eating here...the Million Dollar Cowboy.  But after looking at the menu outside the restaurant we decided not to.  And it was pretty crowded.
So instead we ate at Gun Barrel.
Here's the steak chef.
And here's our delicious filet mignon.
We shared the steak so that's why Nels doesn't have one on his plate.  He is doing a goofy face that was supposed to say, "Hey, where's my steak??"  haha.
That was all for day 1.
More Jeepin' to come for day 2.

Nels Arrives and Grandparent Visits

Nels came to Idaho too.  So we all went and picked him up from the airport.  My mom snuck some pictures of us as we greeted Nels off the plane.
The kids were pretty attached to him right away and happy to see him.
We went to McDonald's afterwards and let the kids eat and play.  This is the best pic of the 5 Judson's and 2 Nyborg's.  Aren't they cute?!  After we ate, the Judson's headed back to Utah.
I was finally feeling better by the time Nels came, so we went to visit the grandparents.
We started with sweet Grandma Stewart.  She had a bucket of toys for the kids to play with.  So we chatted while the twins played with "new" toys.
We love Grandma Stewart.  She is an incredible lady!
Later we visited Grandma and Grandpa Swensen.    The kids liked them and shared their toys with them.
Grandpa and Kira looking in the mirror.
Of course, grandpa knows how to win his grandkids hearts...chocolate anyone?  Isak and Kira had their first hershey chocolate bar.  They seemed to really enjoy it.  Kind of odd, because Isak won't eat chocolate chips?? Silly boy.
Kira loved the attention of course.
We love you Grandma and Grandpa!
So happy we were able to visit with them for a little bit.

Judson Visit

My sister Melissa drove up with her 5 kids from Utah to visit us.  It was so great to see them and spend time with them.  Unfortunately, I had a really bad cold and lost my voice!  So I could barely talk.  But the kids had a blast playing with their cousins.
Here's some of the pictures we took of them.
Playing croquet
It was cold in Idaho.  I dressed my kids up warm because they aren't used to the cold like the Judson kids. :)
The youngest, Lynzi is hilarious and very rambunctious.
Kira tried a chocolate chip cookie for the first time.
I think she liked it.
Playing the piano is fun to do with Abby and Michael.

Tyler swinging with Kira.
One afternoon grandpa and the kids covered the garden with blankets in anticipation of the freezing temperatures for the night.
Kira and Isak tried to help. :)
Tyler and Kira with mom's owl Henry.
The owl's head spins around.  The kids loved it.
Isak is ready to play.
So funny!
Michael was awesome with the kids and just played with them.
One day Kira and Lynzi wore the same dress so they were twins.  And I thought 18 month olds were hard to photograph...Lynzi proved me wrong. haha.

The best one.
One night we played Mexican train and Chicken Foot.  Little Tyler whooped us twice at Chicken Foot.
Thank you Melissa, Abby, Michael, Tyler, Nathan and Lynzi for coming to visit us!!
