June 2017 Wrap Up

Odds and Ends of June 2017--

I love this pic.  Sofie's belly is so fun to kiss!
Nels took this picture.  Managing kiddos.
As many of you know.  I love ice cream.  I really wanted to take the kids to get ice cream all the time.  haha.  But it's so expensive.  One outing costs like $10-15!  So instead I bought $10 worth of ice cream for our freezer and some sugar cones.  Now it's a fun treat at home and we can eat it a lot more often.
I got the jumper out.  Sofie loves it.
Sometimes...I don't know why she is crying...she hardly ever cries so I had to get a pic of it.
Isak is doing great at building legos with instructions.  He built this lighthouse and boat.
Kira wanted in the pic too.
One evening...just playing "roll the ball up the slide."
And these two...always exploring.
Another night...enjoying pudding pops.
Taking time to smell the roses.
Nels bought me these beautiful flowers.  I enjoyed them...almost more than roses!  They lasted so long and are such a pretty color.
Relaxing with his blanket and phone in the swing.
Nels's parents gave the babies these fun gifts for their birthday.  We took a picture to say "thank you!"

Sofie's big grin!
They drink milk now.  And this bottle stage is almost to an end.  Capturing the moment.

Building legos from "my imagination."

We also did lots of water coloring this month.  The kids loved it!

I also did this fun activity that I saw on pinterest.  We checked out the book from the library...A house for hermit crab.  Then we made hermit crabs.  It was so fun.

Sofie's hair!!!  I think her hair is making Noah worried.  haha.
Just being cute.
Sunday's are hard.  Even with applesauce pouches.
I made this sand box.  The kids love it!  Although it's a bit messy, overall we enjoyed having it.
from my journal - June 13 - I took Isak and Kira to get their shots and a TB test to get ready for school.  Isak tried so hard not to cry, but the last shot of the four was a mean one and he cried a bit.  Kira did the same thing.  Then the nurse left.  I held both of my big kids on my lap while they cried and sucked their dum dums.  I was so proud of them.  Also, when the nurse asked, "who wants to go first."  Isak said, "I do.  I do."  I didn't have to convince them or hold them down or anything.  They just sat on the exam table and bravely got their shots.
Getting out with all four kids looks like this...
This is the wall that separates the babies.
One day Isak sat on the couch with a blanket and Sofie climbed right up next to him to snuggle.
Melts my heart.  I love how she is looking up at him.
Here's Sofie sharing her food with daddy.
I took some pics while we were at the park one evening.

Love their smiles!
Sleeping in the swing instead of his crib for a nap.
He loves spaghetti!
Noah is practicing his walking.  He does this cute little unsure face with hunched shoulders.  I finally got a pic of it.  :)
One Saturday I took my older kids out with me.  I took them to McDonald's for lunch and they got to play on the indoor playground.

Then we went grocery shopping.  Little Kira was so tired she fell asleep like this in the cart.
A few other things with no pics...
Sofie, Kira and Noah had a fever for almost a  whole week.  Not fun.
Noah took 3 steps from the couch towards Dad!
Sofie practices walking and she can turn around now.
I read 125 pages of Count of Monte Cristo.

Nels was asked to go to Exeter in May and then told no in June and asked to go to Camarillo, California instead.  Lots of turmoil with Nels's job and not knowing where we should go or where we will be asked to consider to go.  I wrote the following quotes in my journal that I had found in my studies.

Elder Eyring said, "But a loving God has not set such tests before us simply to see if we can endure difficulty but rather to see if we can endure them well and so become polished."
He also said, "You must endure much toil, much labor and many privations to become perfectly polished...Your Heavenly Father requires it."  and..."Pray always, keep the commandments and serve the Lord."

Sister Neill F. Marriott said, "I have struggled to banish the mortal desire to have things my way, eventually realizing that my way is oh so lacking, limited and inferior to the way of Jesus Christ.  His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come."

These quotes helped me feel peace and comfort during this time of turmoil.

That's all for June 2017.

Pacific Grove and More

We were out the door by 10 a.m. for a fun Saturday outing in June 2017.  We drove to Pacific Grove.  A neat town with historic buildings that are now Inns and restaurants.  We at burgers at 17th Street Grill.

My hungry boys.
Then we took a gorgeous walk along a trail near the coastline.

It's just beautiful there.
I tried to get a pic of me ad Sofie. :)
These beautiful purple flowers were in bloom.
We tried to spy some sea glass.   A friend had told us there was some along the trail.  So Nels went down to the rocks to see if he could find any...no luck.

We enjoyed our walk though.  Then we drove along the coast for a bit and then drove to Monterey.
We always passed this huge park on our way to the aquarium, so we finally stopped and played at it.  It's called Dennis the Menace Playground.  Oh what fun!

Although we had a bit of a scare.  We climbed this big hill.  The kids went down the slide.  I rushed down the stairs but didn't make it in time to tell Isak to wait.  I had Kira, but Isak took off some where.  Oh it's the worst feeling!  Minutes passed with both Nels and I shouting Isak's name.  Finally he shows up.  He was trying to get to a bridge he saw.
This is the hill with the slides...
Then we decided to divide up.  Isak, Noah and Nels went around together and us girls stayed together.  It worked out well once we divided up.

It was a large park with lots of people.  After the park, we drove home and I grocery shopped.  Then baths and bed for everyone.
