Happy Easter!!

March 31, 2024
Happy Easter!!
This year we gave the kids two games, Life and Dominoes.

They were happy.  :)
Then they ran around quickly and found the 100+ eggs that were hidden around the house.
They quickly made up stores to begin trading.  :)
We made it to 8:30 a.m. church!

Quick family pic after church.
I love the girls new dresses.
They picked out their sandals from Target while we were shopping.  So cute.

We made our Resurrection Rolls.

They were a success again.
Sofie did the Easter Egg lesson.
Nels smoked some pork!
We had our neighbors Rachel and Jason over with their four kids...Cana, Braham, Genesis and JoJo.

Pictured below: Sofie, Genesis, Kira and Cana.
They are a fun family.  I didn't get pics.  But Nels's pork turned out and we had baked potatoes, corn on the cob, mac and cheese, rolls and fruit.  For dessert, we had angel food cake.  Nels bought 4 different BBQ sauces and made a white bbq sauce!  It was fun to try the different sauces.

We played pie face with the left over whip cream.  Very fun and funny.  We played washers too.

Other Easter pics...
I put sticker nails on Sofie and Kira.
They did not last long, but were cute.

Trading candy is their favorite part of getting candy.  Haha!
And that was our Easter.  We are so grateful for the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I'm grateful we can all try again when we make mistakes and we can be together after we die.  💜

Spring Break - Home Days

We had a day or two before real life began again.  So we did a few things.  We bought two trees, two blueberry bushes and one square/rectangle foot garden!  We're so excited for these new additions.

Isak loves earning money by mowing the lawn.
Creative sandwiches for lunch.  The kids decorated their own sandwiches.
We went to Mill Ridge Park and ate a picnic.  We had fun playing.  It's one of our favorite parks.

Isak would run and jump up to the top of these huge tunnels.  He made it to the top a couple of times.
Nels went down the slide twice.  The first time he hurt his shin and hip.  :(

We had fun together.

And that officially ends spring break!

Day 4 - Foster Falls & Drive Home

Day 4 - of Chattanooga.
We slept in and ate breakfast around 8:30 a.m.  It was so nice to sleep!
While I packed and got ready, Nels took some of the kids swimming.

Quick pic of Isak with this car in the hotel lobby.
Then we began our drive home.
We drove for about an hour and then stopped to do a short hike.  We hiked to Foster Falls.  A 60 ft. waterfall.  And our third waterfall for the break.
First we viewed it from the overlook.

Then we navigated these big rocks to get down to the waterfall.
We crossed the swinging bridge and then...
We were at the base of the waterfall.
We took some pics...It was shady and light.  Kind of hard to get a good pic, but oh, well.
I love this one!

My boys!
Us, girls!

Rock stairs.
There's Kira and Sofie in the middle.  It was steep and fun to hike.

Then we finished our drive home.  Nels and I got one last restaurant splurge.  We got take out from Panera and Blizzards from Dairy Queen.  So good.  I loved eating at our favorite places all in one week.  :)  I also loved our hats and touring around.  And I loved not worrying about cooking and cleaning.  It was a nice break!
