We loved Rock City. It was so fun to walk around and explore all of the different areas and be in nature.
Once we arrived, our first priority was lunch! So we made our way through the Needle's Eye and lots of pretty rocks, trees, bridges and pathways to Cafe 7.
Needle's Eye...Mushroom Rock.
Cafe 7!
Sofie and Noah had pizza. Nels and I had chicken salad sandwiches. Nels got an apple cider and a hot chocolate for me. We ate lunch looking over this gorgeous view. It was wonderful. I was even patient when Kira accidentally spilled her growth shake on the table and ground. We cleaned it up and recovered. :)
We took pics with the 7 flags from the 7 states that you can view from this spot.
Here are the 7 States: Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Virginia.
Then we hiked around some more.
Fat Man's Squeeze was the narrowest passage. Fun to walk through though!
We crossed the swinging bridge...
Explored the jeweled mountain...
And enjoyed the view of Lover's Leap.
The mountain jewels led us to this waterfall and gem.
Kira wore the perfect earrings for today. They glowed in the dark!!! So fun!
Just interesting things were above us, on the ground, and around us to see.
We explored Fairyland Caverns too.
We read most of the poems as we walked around the Mother Goose Exhibit.
Here's the swinging bridge from before.
Statue of a bird and Kira girl.
A different perspective of the waterfall.
Throughout Rock City were these Red Gates. So, of course, I had to take pictures of them...
Just a little sad moment for my Sofie, but she sure looks cute.
Relaxing for a minute in the rocking chairs.
Poor Isak, he was still getting over his cold. He was a trooper though doing all of the things with us.
We found a gazebo with rocking chairs. Nels and I said this is how we'll retire. Haha!
Cute pics of Kira and Sofie.
Oh, there were lots of gnomes too. I didn't take pics of them. Except, for this huge one...
There was a restaurant called Big Rock Grill. We didn't eat there, but we took a picture with the big rock behind us. :)
We all picked out a little treat. I got a raspberry truffle.
Kira was sad...Nels tried to cheer her up, by being a unicorn.
It almost worked...
Yay, she's happy again!
Sofie and Noah got sticks.
And that was the end of our time at Rock City!
We drove back to Chattanooga and ate at McAlisters for dinner. We got brookies for dessert.
