More August

A few more pictures from August that I found on my camera.
We went to a park in Fort Mill one day to meet up with a friend and here's some pictures.
Freedom to run around.

Freedom to climb up the stairs.

and go down the slide.... at least a hundred times. :)
And sometimes to go down the stairs instead of down the slide.  It was a fun day at the park.
I caught the kids playing together under the table one day.
It made me smile.
We had Charlotte and Tiersha over one day to play in the kiddie pool.
Here's Charlotte.
Kira
And Isak
3 babies in a pool... life is good. :)
Tiersha and I relaxed in the sun and had a good time chatting.
Isak and Nels reading the newspaper.
I thought this was so cute.  He just sat there perfectly still on his Dad's lap.
He knows when he is being good and cute.
Kira smiling.  She is eating so much better....knock on wood.
One day I was trying to cook dinner and both kids were whining.  I gave them some dried macaroni noodles and they put them to good use.  They pulled out this bundt pan and put them in the hole over and over again.
They shared it pretty well and I was able to get dinner done.
It's the little things that I just love to remember and capture.  I think that's it for August!

August Happenings

Here's a few random photos from the month of August.
The little table has been great for the twins.  They love it.  I find them sitting at it often and when they do I usually take a picture. haha.  Here they are having a little snack with lots of cups.
Kira is wearing my slippers.  She thought it was so funny to wear them and walk around.  Isak thought it was funny too.
One evening I caught Nels using three devices....the Mac, his iPhone and iPad.  So funny.
I made this elf hat for Anna-Lisa's new baby.  Hopefully it will fit her someday.
I brought the patio cushion inside before it started to rain.  The kids thought it was so fun to play on.  Isak pretended to take a nap.
And then wake up.
Then Kira came and sat down with a book.
And they just sat together for a while.
And then they got tired and laid down again.

They played on it off and on the whole day.  I enjoyed watching them.
Isak found Nels's swim goggles.  He had to put them on.  Look how cool he is! haha.
This is Isak's favorite place to play when I am cooking in the kitchen.  He will close the cupboard and wait for me to say "Where's Isak?" before jumping out.  And he does not like to have Kira play with him when he is playing in the cupboard.

One day they both just laid down on the floor next to each other.  Silly kids.

Kira showing off her dimples.
Happy baby girl.
And that wraps up August!

Springs Farm in Fort Mill, SC

Another weekend in August we decided to take advantage of the peach season.  We wanted to pick them, but the place we went to stopped doing pick your own fruit.  So we just enjoyed the peach ice cream.
This is the place we went to....same as when we ate strawberry ice cream a few months ago.
Springs Farm
Farm Market

The kids loved it.  Isn't Kira so cute on that little yellow bumblebee chair??
For some reason we got the kids's ice cream in a cup instead of a cone.  Dumb.  We had to spoon feed it to them and it got pretty messy.

I let Kira try to feed herself...
Messy and cute.
I just got strawberry.  The kids had a twist of strawberry and peach.
Playing on the chairs.

I wanted a picture of the front of the building.  I had some tag alongs...
It was a fun little outing for us all.

McDowell Nature Center

One weekend in August we went to the McDowell Nature Center for some fun things to see, hiking and playing on the playground.

Here's the entrance to the Nature Center.  Kira was so funny, she did not want to put her head up to the hole.
But her brother was all over it and she watched carefully as he did it.
Walking to the building.  I love hand holding pics.
There was a turtle eating its lunch of strawberries and lettuce.

Aren't they just cute standing there.  Isak is a good 3 inches taller than Kira.

Then we went for a little hike...about 1/4 of a mile.
The kids did awesome.
Climbing over tree roots and they stayed on the path pretty well.
We learned about our children's different personalities.  Kira was our gung-ho leader.  She HAD to be in front leading the way.  Isak was our dilly-dallier.  He took his time and pointed at everything.
Isak pointing at the tree...maybe??
This was the path and trees.  Pretty morning.

I had to run to get ahead of Kira so I could get a picture of her leading the way.

She was super intense about hiking.
And here's dad and Isak coming up from behind.
They played on the benches for a bit.
Isn't Kira just a cutie!

And Isak too.
Tree hugger!
My artsy picture for the day.  Tiny mushrooms.
Then they played at the playground.
Kira is flying down the slide.
Going in opposite directions.
King of the playground.
King in training. heehee.

Fairly good shot of the two together.

Cheesy me.

Then we went to Bruster's ice cream.  We ate a little picnic lunch and then ate ice cream.
I love that Bruster's gives free kiddie cones.  Perfect size for the kids.
It was a fun trip and the kids loved all of the new things.
