Donut Day and Swim Lessons

Time to go to swim lessons.  Noah loved to beat me to the car and pretend to drive.  Haha.

We celebrated National Donut Day by going to Joe and Dough.
The kids got a free donut.  Yay!

They all enjoyed their donuts before swim lessons.

Yum.
Thanks Joe and Dough!
Swim lessons...These two are so cute together.

Here's Kira's teacher trying to convince her to jump.  She eventually did and then did it willingly a few more times.
Panda ears in the pool.
They all passed their lessons.  So proud of them!
Here's how they improved:
Noah:  Willing to get in water.  Willing to try and float.  Although, he still does not like water in his ears or face but handles splashing better.  Usually went potty 2 to 3 times.  He tried to time it when it was his turn to do something.  Haha.
Both him and Sofie tried life jackets, noodles, kick board, and learned about swim safety.
The teacher did get him to dunk his head all the way under once and he cried and cried.  But it also helped because now he knows that he lived through the worse thing he was worried/afraid of doing.
Sofie: great at floating. Learned bobs. better at ducking.  more confident in the water.
Kira: Great swimmer on her back.  Learned side swim.  Still struggles with front swimming and putting her face in the water.   She jumped off the diving board into 13 ft water a few times!  Recovers from going down the slide and swims to side of pool.  Yay.  A lot more confident in the water.  Super proud of her progress!
Isak: He's a fish and loves to swim.  Freestyle, on his back and learned more.  Learned some about how to dive instead of belly flop.  Just more confident and doing great.  Very proud of him too.
Overall, $85/kid for 2 weeks of swim lessons was worth it.  We listened to Ramona books on the 20 minute drive.  We ate snacks in the car and easy meals for dinner since by the time we got home it was 6:30 pm.  We tried to make it easy and fun to do.
