August 1 - 15th: First Day of School!

August 1 - 15th Moments:

Our crepe myrtle (that is now a bush instead a of a tree) is in bloom and Sofie looks cute!

Kira picked out this dress:

Kira colored all of these mystery mosaics.  She didn't want them anymore, so we took a picture so she could throw them away.  She did a fabulous job coloring.

August 4: 

We had a friend day.  Zuri came over and played with Sofie:

And Zuri's sister Amani came over and played with Kira.  They made some slime, of course.

I'm so grateful for Kira and Amani's friendship.  Amani will be riding the bus this year to middle school and I think it will help make it more enjoyable for Kira.

I made chocolate chunk cookies and some of them I put raspberries in.  Mmmmm.

That night we had Salem open house.  I took Sofie and Noah to meet their new 4th grade teacher.  They are in the same class this year. 

There were some mixed feelings about being together, but overall I think they are both ok with it.  Here's where they will sit.

Here's the cookie, with a piece missing.  :)  They were yummy.

Isak practiced playing tennis with a friend.  He looks pretty good in his athletic clothes!

Isak's friend Xavier and his dad played and coached Isak.  So nice of them.  He worked hard to get ready for tennis tryouts.

August 6: Wednesday -

First Day of School!

Isak and Kira had 2 hours, and Sofie and Noah had a half day.

The bus was a little late but she made it and had a pretty good first day.

He had a good day too.  He's most excited about taking Algebra.  

Here's Sofie, ready for 4th grade.

And Noah is ready for 4th grade too.  They both had good half days.  

This is Jonathan.  He is in our car pool to Central.

August 7:

The next day, was no school!

So we went to the neighbors house and met their new puppy.  

And Isak tried out for the tennis team.

August 8 - 

First Full Day of School:

The kids rocked it.  I made Texas Brownies for a treat.

August 10 - Sunday:

Pancake art with dad.

August 11:

Sofie's new backpack came.  She's officially ready for school now!

August 14: 

I went to Kira's School Open House

I enjoyed meeting her teachers and we saw Amani and her family there so that was fun! 

August 15 - Friday:

Noah's new backpack came and he loves camo this year. :)

It came just in time for Camaraderie day at school.  Sofie didn't have any camo so she wore a greenish color shirt.  Cutie pies!

I got the kids a treat for finishing the first full week of school.  They were pretty happy about it.

Kira's homework.  She does such neat work.

We finally bought curtains for this big window!

Quite the process to measure, buy, and hang up curtains.

But we're glad we did it.  We love them.

And just like that, half of August is over with!
