December Outings

We went exploring a little in December.  One weekend we went to two different parts of Murfreesboro.  We found an outdoor skating rink with shopping and a Soda Bar.  We went inside and checked it out...
Then we went downtown Murfreesboro to Cannonsburgh Village for a free light show.  It was small but enjoyable...we missed the Moosehearts light show in Geneva.  Hopefully next year we find more places to see lights.  But we were thankful we found this one...
We walked around Murfreesboro...
The courthouse had some fun lights...
Then we checked out Hattie Jane's Creamery.

We decided to go back to the Soda Bar...
So this time at the Soda Bar everyone ordered some ice cream.

Nels and I shared an ice cream soda.  It was pretty good.
After the ice cream...Sofie and Noah were pretty wild...

Noah busted out some dance moves and Sofie gathered trash to make some art.  :)
Another evening, we tried out the local Toot's restaurant.  It was ok.  Nels and I like Red Robin better.
During Christmas break, when the weather was decent I tried to get out with the kids.  Here's Noah ready to go...Monkey, water, granola bar...oh, and a walkie talkie of course...(Sofie and Noah got walkie talkies from G&G Nyborg for Christmas).
We walked along the Old Fort Greenway.
We found a bridge and a swing...

And other neat things along the trail...
Then the kids got to play on the playground for a while.

Another time we found some trails near our apartment.  Sofie and Noah were being funny with their monkey and fox (they got these for Christmas too).

Another day we found this little park...Patterson Park.  The kids were just happy to be at a park even if it was run down and sad...we miss our Geneva Park District.
I fed the kids pizza and ice cream while Nels did the Costco shopping trip.  He beat us!

And that's some of the fun we had outdoors in December.
