November 11, 2025 - Kira & Isak's 13th Birthday!!

November 11 - Tuesday - Happy 13th Birthday, Isak and Kira!!!

I got up at 5:45 a.m. so I could do special breakfasts for Isak and Kira.  :)  They also opened a gift before school.
Strawberry cream cheese bagel for Kira.
Nels helped with Isak's egg, ham and cheese on an english muffin.
Kira opened a new pink fleece sweater and boots.  She looks so cute!
Isak got this sweatshirt.  He looks handsome!
They also opened another gift which was candy.  Kira got Ande's mints and milk chocolate caramel Ghirardelli's.  Isak got Butterfinger popcorn and bite size chocolate caramel sanders.

They both just had normal lunches.  I wrote post it notes in each of their lunches.  Randy got Isak candy and a pop  - so nice.  We didn't go to youth activities.

Isak was excited to open gifts, but we had to wait until Nels came home from work.
So I took a few pictures...

Then Nels came home and we opened gifts.  Yep, even Sofie and Noah got a gift.  It's their half birthday, so they got one gift.
G&G Nyborg got Isak the Titanic to build.
Kira pretty much knew all of her presents, but she acted surprised and happy.  Earrings.
Noah got a stem building kit.
Sofie got dance leg warmers and a rainbocorn panda.
Also, Sofie was awarded Baxter's Pack...an award for basically being awesome.
We ate dinner as a family - Sloppy Joes.
Quesadillas for Kira.
Kira got beautiful birthstone earrings from G&G Nyborg.
Isak got a mirror cube from his siblings.  Isak asked for a cubing course.  It was expensive so it was basically his only gift.  But he knew that and was happy with it.
G&G Swensen gave the kids a cute card and $10.  :)
Kira's holding the pretty birthstone earrings.
Isak asked for the chocolate cake from Costco.  Great choice.
Kira asked for brownies and ice cream with caramel sauce.  We did pictures with just the brownie.  She was recovering from a cold so we just did candles on her piece.
Awww.
We took pictures and sang.

Here's how Kira's turned out. :)
Kira got lots of earrings, Ohuhu Markers, a white bedspread for her bed, art drawing stuff and pastels.  She ended up returning the art stuff and pastels though.

I tried my best to make it a special day.  Kira was sweet and said it was the best.  💜  I think Isak had a good birthday too.

They are growing up wonderfully.

3 Things About Kira
1.  She loves to look cute and have cute things.  She wants her room and clothes to be just right.  She has the best handwriting.
2.  She still enjoys crafting with paper and composing songs on the piano.  She also plays the trumpet.
3.  She loves milk chocolate and caramel.
Extra:  She's sweet and loves to talk when it's one on one.  Noah loves to make her laugh.  Sofie enjoys crafting with her.  Isak and Kira like to talk and compare their school experiences.  She enjoys playing games like Mancala and Chinese checkers while she eats.  So glad she's in our family.  Kira is 4 feet 7.5 inches and weighs 60ish lbs.

3 Things About Isak:
1.  He still enjoys cubing and started learning German on Duolingo - he has a 60 day plus streak going.
2.  He is such a good sport and enjoys pickleball and tennis.
3.  He rocks the piano and figures out songs so fast.
Extra:  Isak still loves Reese's peanut butter, but also loves my Sander's chocolate caramels.  He's trying to eat a lot because he wants to gain weight.  He teaches Noah how to cube.  He teases and plays with Sofie.  He talks with Kira.  He loves time with me or dad and especially when he gets both of us!  So glad Isak is in our family.  Isak is 5 feet tall and weighs 75ish lbs.

Spiritually - I think they are learning the gospel pretty well.  They've both given youth talks in church and have been to the temple several times this year. We read scriptures as a family and we pray with them.  I hope they continue to strengthen and grow their own testimonies.  If they have Jesus in their lives, I know they will be ok.

I'm excited to see how they learn and grow as 13 year olds!!
