Chicago with Visitors

 Guess who came to visit?!

My sister Kari and her daughter Sadie!  We are so glad they came to spend time with us.  We had some fun adventures!

On Sept. 9th, we picked them up from the O'Hare airport at 6:30 p.m.  We got home around 8 or so.  We all ate cereal and then went to bed.

Sept. 10th- Friday- We had a Big, Fun, Hard, Ups and Downs Adventurous Day in Chicago!
Before we left for Chicago, we cleaned the house.  It was day 2 of our house being on the market and we had 2 or 3 showings already scheduled for the day.  So we cleaned and got ready then left around 10:30 a.m.

Traffic was pretty good and we arrived around 12 p.m.  We parked in the Millennium Park Garage for $30.  Then we walked to Maggie Daley Park.  The kids LOVED the playground.  Here's some pictures of our time there.

Sadie is about to go down this big slide...
I love the city in the background.
The big swinging bridge.
Pretty Kari!
Sofie and Noah...can you tell I caught Noah in the middle of his dance moves.  He's always dancing when I try to take his picture.  Haha.
Isak.
The girls!
They all climbed into the whales mouth.
I love this picture of Sofie.
Another fun slide.
Then it was time to get some lunch so we walked to Shake Shack.

We walked over the ribbon bridge or the real name "BP Pedestrian Bridge."
They were SO hungry and grumpy and I really should not have asked to take a picture...but the background was just right....Kira is crying and sad....
We ate lunch and look everyone is happy again!
We walked to the Picasso sculpture and the kids had fun sliding down the statue.

There was some music playing and Noah started dancing and doing his break dancing moves.  Then the rest of the kids joined him.  It was so fun.  Then Noah got a little to excited...I have no idea why, but he started to pull down his shorts!!!  Ah!  I quickly pulled them back up and explained that we don't do that!  Haha.  We all laughed and it's a story we keep retelling.  Silly Noah.  :)

Sadie really wanted to go shopping so we went to Macy's.
Macy's is five stories tall and has elevators and escalators.  The kids loved the escalators.  We finished going on the last escalator and started walking down the aisle, but Noah didn't realize it and he was headed back UP the escalator.  We said, "No, come back Noah."  His little legs went back down the "up" escalator as fast as possible until he jumped into my arms!  Phew!

We shopped at Old Navy too and it was three stories tall.  Sadie found some cute clothes so the shopping was a success.
Then we walked to Stan's Donuts.  We saw Trump Towers along the way...
Took some pictures on the bridge.

Then we arrived at the cutest donut shop!

And the donuts were delicious!
See...Noah loved his powered donut.
Kira got a chocolate dipped donut...hers was my favorite.  :)
Sofie got one with rainbow sprinkles.
Isak got a Butterfinger Pocket.
Sadie got one with sprinkles too.

Look at those fun colored kitchen aids.
Then we walked back to Maggie Daley Park.

This picture cracks me up...copycat.
At one point Sofie and Noah sang at the top of their lungs, "Follow the Prophet!"  😂
At the park...fun things to do.

Then it was time to go...Last picture in front of the city and check out Sofie...wow...she was giving me some attitude.
So I asked her to step aside...
Then she was happy again and asked for a picture by herself....
We drove home...we hit terrible traffic for about thirty minutes.  But Kari and I just enjoyed talking with each other and it was just fine.  We picked up Panera and McDonald's for dinner and ate at home.
the kids enjoyed playing Pretty Princess, Chess and Jr. Monopoly whenever there was down time at home.  And that was our day in Chicago!
