Door County - Day 2

Sept. 17 - Thursday

We slowly got ready in the morning.  We spent time in the woods.  Kira and Sofie liked the swing...
Dad even got on it...
Isak really wanted to build something with the logs he found.  He figured out how to make a seesaw with rocks and the logs.  Pretty creative.  He was proud of himself.
Kira and I made a collection of the things we found in the woods.  It was so fun to collect pinecones, leaves, needles, rocks and acorns.
Sofie helped too.  We used lunch bags to collect the items in.
Here's the cottage...built in 1920...100 years old!
Then we drove around and up to Peninsula State Park.  Then we turned around and drove back.  We played at Wilson's Park before we tried to eat lunch at Wilson's.
We got our masks on and thought it was so weird that there was no line of people around.  We got to the door and learned why - Closed on Thursday's!  Ha!

So we drove to Al Johnson's at Sister Bay and waited 45 minutes to eat there.  We played at the park while we waited and took pictures of the Bay.
Noah loved this dinosaur.

A sailboat came along.  So pretty.
Love this photo of Sofie!!!

I tried to get pictures of everyone.  Even us oldies...

Finally, it was our turn to eat at Al Johnson's Swedish restaurant.

See the goat on top?
Nels takes the best pics of me...😆
Kira with the pretty blue glasses.
The Swedish pancake special.
Our kids were the only kids there.  Lots of older people.  And our kids had a few meltdowns.  So I felt like everyone was staring at us.  Oh, well.  We survived.

We came back to the cottage and enjoyed a lovely nap while the kids played on their kindles.

Noah loved the gate at the top of the stairs.  He played "traps" and "policeman" by himself and with other kids.

We went to Ellison Bay Beach and threw rocks and played at the playground.

Love this pic....

Got a picture of the kids on the dock.  Love the blue water.

So careful...

Kira buried her feet.

The kids just loved it.

We ate leftover pizza for dinner.  Then we played Uno as a family.  I'm happy to report that I won with Noah as my helper.  Then Isak, Dad and then Kira.  Fun time.  Then off to bed!
