Prego Progression and Baby Projects

I'm about 48 hours away from meeting our little babies.  I'm so excited!  I thought I better do one last post...who knows when I will get to do another one!

So here's a picture of our pregnancy in progress.  I remember each time the photo was taken thinking, "Holy Cow, I'm huge.  I can't imagine being any bigger."  But bigger is what I got! haha.  I'll try to take one more on Monday for 38 weeks.

I made a few things for Isak and Kira during the past few weeks/months.

Crochet Owl Hats
I love the braided tails!
 Earflap hats
Ice cream cocoons for pictures.  I made Kira's and my dear friend Larsya made Isak's.
Car seat canopies...Isak's has elephants and Kira's has butterflies.
 Flannel is on the inside.
I enjoyed making a few things here and there.  I also made some burp cloths and receiving blankets.

We had 4 baby showers total!  People were so kind and generous.  Wow!  We received so many wonderful and helpful gifts.  We really could not do this by ourselves.  So a big thank you to my visiting teachers who are awesome and threw a fantastic baby shower, my work definitely went the extra mile for an excellent shower and Nels's work did a surprise shower for him too.

My family threw us a mailing baby shower.  It was so thoughtful and Nels and I had a lot of fun.  My sister Melissa made this adorable banner with Isak and Kira's names on it.  It's still hanging up in my dining room and makes me smile every time I look at it.

All the gifts we receive just reminds me how many wondeful friends we have and their love for us.  So thank you everyone for your help, love, prayers and more!

28.5 week Pregnancy Photos

Nels's boss's wife took some pregnancy photos of us a few weeks ago.  It was so fun.  We found different ideas and then copied them.  I think she did a great job.  So here we are at 28.5 weeks.

Now for the hard decision...which one should we put in the nursery??
Any suggestions?

Jerry's Sno Cones

One Saturday evening we ventured out with my co-work Nancy to Jerry's Sno Cones.  I had read an article about Jerry's in a newspaper.  The article stated it was a Memphis gem and historic site.  So by all means, we thought we better try it.
I also learned that the building was painted bright colors because it was in the movie "Great Balls of Fire."  Jerry's is tucked away in a neighborhood which also adds to its uniqueness.

Here's a few pictures:

Nels didn't know I was taking this picture. :)

Nancy hates to have her picture taken.  So when I said, "1, 2, 3" she tried to duck out.  But I got half of her. :)  Next time I won't count.
The line wasn't too bad.  I've heard it's been wrapped around the building!
I like the Polar Bear:
And here are our sno cones...with soft serve ice cream!
Nels and his funny face:
See the stormy clouds behind us.  We just finished before the rain started...maybe that's why there wasn't a long line.

Verdict:  Nels and I were split on this one.
Nels ordered the Wedding Cake with chocolate ice cream.  The wedding cake sno cone is one of their top selling sno cones.  So Nels tried it to see what it was all about.  It came out red, which threw him off.  Because it literally tastes like vanilla wedding cake.  It was too sweet for Nels and he did not like it.
I, on the other hand, ordered my favorite combination of raspberry sno cone and chocolate ice cream.  Mine was delicious!
We both felt it was a little far to drive for a treat, but if you're in the area I think it's worth going to.

Day 2 with Lorilee

The next day, Lorilee and I went to the Botanical Gardens.  What a beautiful place?  We took our time and just walked, explored and talked.  I loved it.  Here's a few pictures:

Me and my belly...I'm about 26 weeks here.
Roses...

These little flowers just looked cheerful.
Creative planting.  They had plants growing out of sinks, tubs, lamps, etc.  See me and Lorilee in the mirror?

There was a cute Candy Plant Land.  Lorilee and I decided to play.  We put on colorful aprons, grabbed the game pieces, and off we went.
Lorilee in her apron ready to go.

It was quite the adventure from trampolines to rope swings to climbing walls.
And here's the winner's chair!
Throughout the garden they had unique swings.  Here's one of them.
We loved this hammock swing.
This statue reminded me of the new Timothy Green movie, although I've only seen the previews.
There were lots of little houses to explore:

This was the big birdhouse.
Then we fed the fish.  There were some people there before us that were feeding the fish....looks kind of gross/scary.
I LOVE this red bridge.

Thanks for the visit and fun time Lorilee!!
