Oct 26 - 31 - Moments & Halloween

Oct 26 - 31, 2024
Moments and Halloween
Oct. 26 -
We went to Red Robin for Nels's birthday burger.

Sunday pictures:

Walking and cubing. :)
We walked to the mailbox.  Very eventful.  Haha.

Chicken Foot.
Dinner as a family:  Sweet Potatoes and BBQ chicken.
Nels's birthday apple pie.
Sofie and Noah playing together.  :)
Oct. 30 - Temple trip

On my way home from the temple I called my mom.  She happened to be at my Grandma Stewart's home.  I got to talk with grandma and hear her voice say, "Hi Becky.  I love you."  I'm so grateful for this moment.  It was the last time I heard her voice.  She passed away Nov. 8th, 2024.  Nine days later.  I'm so grateful for this tender mercy of hearing her voice and going to the temple.  Eternal things matter!

Here's a picture of my parents, grandma and Jenny with Lydia and Forrest on Oct 30th.
I don't remember what happened.  But this was before school.  Sofie, Pooh and Noah hug.  💜
Treats for the neighbors.  M&M bars and candy.

Oct 31, 2024 - Halloween:
I picked Isak up early from Archery, but we still got stuck in traffic.  Sofie and Noah made their own spider sandwiches and got their costumes on, so that we could leave right when Isak and I got home.
We took some pictures.  Isak was Dracula this time.

Then we went trick or treating around our neighborhood.  Sofie's friend Brooklynn, her sister Jaelynn and her mom Kristen came with us.  It rained the whole time!  Lots of rain too!  We took two umbrellas (all we had).  Some kids wore boots - rain or winter boots.  The kids all wanted to still go.  So we went!  We walked house to house around the block.  Penny's house, Gia & Dominick, Zuri and Amani's house.  The whole street, both sides.  Then we went up and down another street with our friend's the Hensley's house.  Since it was raining and not a lot of kids out - people gave the kids handfuls of candy.  They got a lot of candy and we went to fewer houses!

I loved seeing Kira's big smile as she ran house to house in the rain - wearing her unicorn rain boots and purple rain jacket.  She seriously was so happy!  Joyful!  And I loved watching her and the kids trick or treat in the rain.

Nels got us a Papa Murphy's pepperoni pumpkin pizza for dinner too.
The kids had a successful trick or treating season.  Probably the most candy they've gotten!
Here's Sofie and Kira's stores:

And that's all for October 2024!

Oct 25 - Boo Bash & Church Halloween Party

October 25 - Friday
Boo Bash at Salem and Church Halloween Party

Two things in one night.  I took Sofie and Noah to Boo Bash at Salem Elementary.
My two bears:

There was a really long line...you can kind of tell from the picture.  Luckily, we got in pretty fast.
The teachers dressed up and had themed stations inside the gym.  Like Candy Land and the olympics and Disney characters.
We found Ms. Armiger...Sofie and Noah's teacher.  :)

It was quick and fun.
Then we went to the church for a halloween party.
Nels dressed up...:)
We ate some yummy food.
We guessed candy in different jars.
Nels ended up winning a jar!

There were activities for the kids to do.  Cookie decorating and crafts.
Then we went outside for the trunk or treat.  We didn't decorate our trunk.  But Nels handed out candy in front of our car.  I walked with the kids to get candy.  It was fun night.

Oct 20 - 25 - Moments

Little moments from Oct 20 - 25.

This is what Nels does while he waits for everyone to get out of the van after church.  He prunes the rose bush.
One of the roses fell off.  So I convinced him to take a picture with me.

Isak and Kira cubing.
Walk with Kira.  We saw the moon and sunset.
Nels walks Kira to the bus stop every morning.  💜
Parent Teacher conference.  This is where Sofie and Noah sit.
Here's there awesome teacher, Ms. Armiger.
Then they came home and tried lunchables.  They liked them.
Nels's birthday:
We played pickleball together and then we went to Planet Fitness and got massages.
Then I went to Costco to buy his dinner and cake.  He chose this maple nut bar cake.  It was delicious.
For his dinner, we had chicken salads.  Pretty chill birthday.  We just did a little to celebrate and hopefully, he felt special.

I asked my mom to send me some pics of me dressed up for halloween as a kid.
I totally remember this halloween.  I wanted to be a pirate.  So I asked my dad to cut out a sword for me and then we painted it.  Then I'm sure my mom helped me sew a pirate eye patch.  Jenny may have volunteered to be a pirate with me...or I strongly persuaded her to be a pirate too.  I remember being very proud of our costumes.
This year I was a clown.
It was always cold on Halloween.  So we wore our coats.  Costumes were mostly just our heads.  Haha.
My mom also sent these sweet pictures of when I was little.
My three year old birthday.  My mom made matching dresses for me and my doll.  My doll's name was Baby Sister Name.  :)  This birthday is my earliest memory.  I remember Kari and I being super excited for my birthday and the only gift I remember were the matching dresses.
Nels's birthday cake picture...The kids made him cards.

Noah is learning to cube too.
Sofie dressed up as a teacher for the swap day.  Teachers dressed as students and vice versa.  She figured it all out on her own and looked so adorable.
She even made herself a name tag.
After she came home, I asked how her day was and if her teacher outfit worked out all right.  She cried and said some kids made fun of her.  I should have looked more closely at the name tag.  It said, "Mrs. Sofie."  and the kids said she was married and teased her.  😢  Hopefully, she will be able to laugh about it later.
I helped my friend sort toys and prepare this space for a Christmas Toy Drive.
Fall tree in front of our house.
Nels got a new to him pickleball paddle and some new shoes too.
Kira's finished lantern project from kiwi co.
Bragging about Kira.  This is one of Kira's homework assignments.  Look at the picture she drew!  And her perfect writing.
This is our pickleball crew.  I have so much fun playing with them!
