February 2024 Moments

Moments in February:
Noah got a reward for being a good student.  Yay!
He also got new glasses!
I painted Kira and Sofie's nails with temperature color changing nail polish.  So fun!
I love this from Noah..."The best part of me is my arms because they can hug my mom." 💙
My YW class was in charge of the combined youth night.  We played lightening and made cards for veterans and people in the nursing home.  Here's Isak and the Bishop at the hoop.
Sofie drew this and wanted me to take a picture.  She is excited for her dance class.

School pics from their teachers... There's Kira...
And Kira again.
We went to the library.  Kira took a minute to read in a rocking chair.
Kids still like to play and I'm glad...

Kira and I colored.

Sofie and Noah made crowns.  They are funny sometimes.

Family Home Evening.  Shake the chains off of temptations and let Jesus encircle you in his love.
I love this.  Noah is helping to blow dry Kira's nails.  :)
Isak school pic.
Nels and I played some music together.  He played the guitar, I played the violin and Isak sang the song "Book of Mormon Stories."  So fun.
Here's Isak and Noah's wall in their room.
Sofie was just looking cute after school.  So I took a pic.
My YW's class made cookies...
They thought they saw a rat so they all climbed on the counters.  Haha.  The cookies turned out yummy and I never saw the rat.
Bear ride!
Kira school pic...
Nels and I got to take Isak and Kira to the temple for the first time on Friday, February 16 at 6 p.m.  It was dark and rainy, so not the best picture.

It was a neat experience.  I'm so glad I got to be there with them.  Kira was baptized by Nels for 8 women on our family tree.  Isak was next and he was baptized for 8 men.  I got to be the witness.  Then they changed their clothes and we did confirmations for them.  We finished around 8 p.m.
Then we went to Chick-Fil-A for shakes and dinner.  Very thankful for my sweet friend who watched Sofie and Noah for us.
Sweet Sofie.
A new watercolor project with the girls.

It was pretty fun.  Here's our final project.
Sofie and Noah painted these monkeys.  :)
Fort building day.
We went to the park with some friends.

We met our neighbors and they have 4 kids.  So we've enjoyed playing with them after school some times.
Isak liked this heart strawberry.
Kira school.
Isak school.
Sofie went to her dance clinic on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Rockvale High School.  She was SO excited!
She got a cute blue shirt and for 3 hours she learned a dance with High School dance team members.  Then we all got to come and see her perform.  She was so cute!  And a good dancer too!  She's in the front on the left.
Yay, Sofie!

The kids were invited to a birthday party.  So they got to go swimming with their friends.

They had a great time.
I was proud of Noah for trying to do the back float he had worked on last summer.
Sunday pics...

Another FHE.  Kira did the lesson for us.  We built a monster and learned how Jesus helps us escape the awful monster of sin and death.
Noah enjoyed playing with his new game Tetris Tower.
Cute Kira.

We decided to hire painters and paint our house!  Good bye white walls, hello Agreeable Gray!

I love it.  It took the painters about 5 days to paint everything except for the bedrooms.

And that's February!
Robotics Competition, Valentine's Day, church stuff, school stuff, friend stuff.  :)

All Things Valentine's Day!

We had fun celebrating Valentine's Day this year...
The youth made cards for veterans and people in the nursing home.  Some of the cards were kind of sad looking.  So Kira helped me spruce them up.   Isak and Nels worked on his ukulele while we worked on cards.

I made this tag and gave the chocolates to our YW class.
Sunday before Valentine's Day...

Nels and I celebrated the day before Valentine's Day with a lunch date to Outback Steakhouse.  Yum!
Squinty eyes...it was a sunny day.
Kids got their class valentine's ready.  Between all 4 kids they did about 96 valentine's.

This is what I gave them for Valentine's Day...
I did a clue treasure hunt for each of them to find their stuffed animal.  The last clue led each of them to their sock drawer.
It was fun to watch them figure out the clues and run around to find them.
They were all happy with their stuffed animal and candy.  😀
Sofie and Noah drew this picture.  I thought it was sweet.
For dinner, we had heart shaped pizza.
Candlelight dinner.  Boys giving the girls bunny ears...
And a "normal" one.
We read our valentine's from each other.

Nels got us cake. :)
Happy Valentine's Day!  It was fun to do some sweet things for the kids and celebrate.

Robotics Competition - Portland, TN

We had a Robotics Competition, Feb 3rd.
It started at 7:30 a.m. in Portland, TN, which was an 1 hour and 15 minute drive.
We were up bright and early.  It was an all day event too.  We finished up around 3 p.m.
The kids did great.  They had good attitudes even when their robot didn't work right, they were tired and they placed in the low 40's out of 60 teams.

Here's a few pictures:
Cute Kira!

Here's their teams working.

This is how the gym is set up...
I set myself up with a camping chair, snacks, water and a good book!

Kira did great driving and got some points for her team.
Isak did well also.  Sadly, his team made some modifications and it messed up the robot!  It was pretty frustrating.  They fixed it for the next round, but it hurt their placement.  Isak was pretty bummed.

Here's Isak checking out the scoreboard.
I got to eat lunch with them.  I got McDonalds for them.  Isak ended up drinking two smoothies!
I loved being there with them, taking pictures and cheering them on.  That was our last competition for the year.
