October Outings

Outside outings in October...

The kids kept asking to go to the park with the huge green tunnel slide.  It's called Big Woods Park.  It's a favorite, but it's kind of far from our house so we don't go to it very often.  So they sure enjoyed their time.

There was a birthday party going on and the other kids had masks on...so we wore ours until they left.
Noah was so proud of himself for climbing these ropes.
Sofie and Kira girl...
Sweet sisters.
Another day.
We went for a walk.
Love these sewer holes.  :)
Beautiful colors...
Kira loved the purple flowers we found.

Nels came with us for this walk.
Photos of the kids.

I missed getting one with Isak.  He was jumping around and then we left before I could get one.
These two four year olds.  They are so cute, even if they drive me crazy.
We went to the library and then played at the playground afterwards.  It was a warmer day.  Always nice to get out when the weather is warm.

Noah actually liked this turning seat...until it went crazy....then he screamed.
Fall leaves.  Red leaves by the front of our house.
Another day, we met up with some friends and played at two different parks.  It was a super windy day.  The second park was better...more trees to block the wind.  The kids had fun playing with other kids for a change.
And I loved the fall colors some more!
The kids loved climbing in this great tree.
Another day, we went on a family bike ride.  Just our normal 3 mile ride.

We ate some muffins for a snack.

We played with leaves.

We took a lot of slo-mo videos of the kids throwing leaves.  So fun!

Just beautiful colors!
This is the tree in our backyard.  The leaves fell off and Isak and Kira had a great time playing in the leaves.
Sofie came and played too.

Red leaves covered our front side walk...
That's all.

October Date Night

Nels and I went on a date...for 4 hours!  Yay!

We went on a 5 mile bike ride...

I really liked this red bench along the trail.

The fall colors were starting to show through and I loved seeing the colors.
We wondered around Hobby Lobby.  Maybe we'll finally start decorating the house!  haha.

Then we ate burgers at "That Burger Joint."  It just opened.  Pretty good burgers.  I really liked the loaded fries.

Then we walked up and down 3rd street.  We saw some cool/interesting things.
I LOVED this display in a store.
And this is one of the desserts they sold...It's cotton candy on top!  How whimsical is that?!
We talked and walked.  Then we stopped by Steak N Shake for a shake.  It was nice to be out and not to feel rushed to get back home.  4 hours was awesome.

General Conference Weekend

General Conference weekend.  First weekend in October.  It was one of our best conferences with the kids.  They were quiet a lot and listened and did quiet things while we listened to conference.

Isak and Kira played conference BINGO.  Sofie played a little bit too.
So cute to see them paying attention.
I printed some coloring pages.  Sofie and Kira loved the coloring.
I made cinnamon rolls!!! I enjoyed making them...but they do take a lot of time.  Good thing they turned out delicious.
Sofie's coloring.  Doesn't she do a great job?!  She's four!
Nels and Isak worked hard on a Mickey and Minnie Mouse puzzle.   I helped with it too.  It was 500 pieces and that was a lot of fun to do together.  Do you see a little Catboy in the background?  Noah wore his costume that I had just bought for him.  He wore it most of the day and loved to just sit on my lap while we listened to conference.  ðŸ’™  I enjoyed the snuggles!
Finished the puzzle.  Somehow we lost one piece.  ðŸ˜¢
Finished cinnamon rolls.  Isak, Kira and Sofie really liked them.
I also printed this 24 x 36 poster at Office Depot.  I colored it with Kira and Sofie.  I loved doing it with them.

This picture cracks me up...
For Primary, we dropped off this Bingo sheet and M&Ms.
My favorite talk was Pres. Nelson's "Let God Prevail."  Lots of talks were about being kinder during this political, racial turmoil.  Some about moving forward with the new "normal" of COVID guidelines for safety.  There is peace in Christ...Nelson said "without Christ there is fear, with Christ there is peace."  So true!  Oaks said something about our daily routines - we need to be better and diligent and not let things creep in.  I'm excited to reread the talks and listen to them again!
