September was overall a nice month. Not too busy. So here are the odds and ends for September.
The kids had spirit week and enjoyed some dressing up days. This was mismatch day. They wore different shoes and tried not to match. They did it on their own. I fixed their hair though.
Kira really liked having her hair like this.
Of course, Sofie rocked mismatch day without even trying! She naturally picks clothes that don't match. Makes me laugh!!
Kira loves unicorns and pink and rainbows right now.
This is how we look for the bus. Isak is usually ready first so he stands at the window to watch. Then he yells, "the bus is here!" And everyone frantically runs to open the door, give hugs and race to the bus.
Sister cuddle time.
Just playing with the kids' utensils.
They passed the utensils back and forth, emptying the basket and then filling it back up again.
Hard at work. Isak earned enough money to buy another lego set. We purchased this one from Amazon. Isak said, "I like shopping online because then we don't have to listen to the babies cry in the store." :)
Just having a little ice cream in the warm evening time.
Kira is so funny. She stirs her ice cream so it's like soup and then eats it. She's pretty messy and we laughed because this time she had a goatee like daddy!
All ready for school. She loves her backpack. She wants it on whenever the kids are getting ready for school.
Waiting for the school bus one day.
And the big kids just left. Sniff, sniff. The babies wave and yell, "bye!"
On the field trip day, Nels walked the kids to the bus stop. Sofie got to join them. She was thrilled.
Just working on our building skills. She was so proud of how tall her tower was.
Reading a book "together."
Oh she makes us laugh and drives us crazy at the same time. Two pair of sunglasses for Sofie girl. "Cheese!"
Our friends hosted a luau party. It was super fun and delicious. We brought grilled pineapple and corn on the cob. The kids were pretty good. Noah is wearing Isak's old Hawaiian shirt. Cute boys.
Here's us girls at the party.
Just an afternoon snack.
Sometimes Noah can be such a sweetie!
Just eating breakfast. Sometimes I'm in such a rush to get these meals over with that I forget to enjoy them. Look how cute these two year olds are!
One Sunday.
I just Love this dress.
Showing off how tall he is...
Beep, beep.
Sweet as can be.
Kira is quite the creator. She made this heart from the train tracks. I would have never thought of doing that.
Just swinging.
So cute.
Noah is cute too.
And so is Isak.
Another one of Sofie.
Noah is always making truck/car noises.
Another Sunday. Girls holding hands to go inside...melts my heart! And after church, I grabbed these pics.
Noah is finally getting on the swing!!!! Hooray for Noah!!
And Sofie is still wild on the swing. I love her new Minnie Mouse dress!
Picture day happened in September too. Here's our practice smiles...
We got Isak's hair cut that morning so he'd be extra handsome!
And here's how they turned out...💕💕
And that's all the pics for September.
Here's a few things that have been happening in the Nyborg family this past month:
- We took Isak and Kira to Barnes and Nobles and they each bought some books as a reward for finishing their 100 reading lessons. They were pretty excited. Isak got a Superhero book and a chapter Magic Treehouse book. Kira got a set of five Pinkalicious books.
- I finished my first iMovie. I named it "Picnic at the Park" and it's 4 minutes and 54 seconds long. I thought it turned out pretty well for my first one.
- I guess we have dealt with some sickness this month. Isak was sick with the flu for a day or two. Kira was sick with a cold that lasted a long time...finally took her to the doctor for it. And poor Kira has been dealing with constipation and anxiety. We're working on it.
- I started teaching piano lessons! I have two students. They are our neighbor's kids. So cute. I love it.
- Our niece Danika received her mission call to Baton Rouge, LA. She leaves Dec. 19th. It was so cool to watch her open her letter via Instagram live. Thankful for technology!!
- I finished A. Lincoln!! Here's a little about it that I wrote in my journal..."With malice towards no one and charity to all." Great book, great man. I'm glad I read it. I liked learning how he wasn't born great. He didn't even have ideal circumstances. But he chose to educate himself continually. He chose to improve and learn and try and fail and then eventually he succeeded. In the beginning, he wasn't a good speaker/writer. He didn't have a natural talent for it. But he improved and learned and became powerful in writing and speaking. I liked how he turned to the Bible and God for a source of learning and guidance. Lincoln and his wife Mary had four sons. One died at an early age...I think age two or three. The other son died Lincoln's first year as President around age ten, I think. Both deaths were difficult. He cherished his living sons all the more. He emancipated the slaves and saved the Union. He wrote letters in anger and did not send them. He chose to build others up rather than tear them down. He was known as "Father Abe or Abraham" to soldiers. He was revered. He stood for something and followed through, even when it didn't seem "popular." He did many good things and had a great character.
- I did some apple paper making projects with the older kids.
- I played bubbles outside with the babies. I love doing bubbles with the kids. I think it's the pure joy on their faces as they see the bubbles and chase after them and pop them.
- We actually did a lot of service this month (a lot for us!) We had the missionaries over for dinner, I took a meal to a person in the ward who was recovering from back surgery and Nels and Isak cleaned the church. Isak actually helped with the vacuuming! Pretty cool.
