February Wrap Up

Random pictures from February.
Nels was in charge of lunch for Isak while Kira and I were out one day.  He decided to make Isak a "man's" lunch, with hot dogs, beans and grilled cheese sandwich.  Isak was pretty happy about it!
All cuddly.
My kids can feed themselves with spoons and forks.  I love it.  They do a good job and try to get the food in their mouths and not on the floor.

Nels's parents gave the kids a tent for Christmas.  They enjoy playing in it. :)
Eating yogurt at the table.
Isak with his glasses.  I told him to stand against the wall.  Isak chose this wall.
Kira chose this wall, far away from Isak.  haha.
For a couple of days in a row, every morning the kids would load up strollers, boxes or dump trucks with all their precious items and push them around the house.  I just thought it was so cute!
Little man Isak with 2 flashlights in his awesome pockets and a watch on his wrist.
Yay!
Kira wanted to be in the picture too...she has a purple flashlight.
Isak lined up all of his cars this way before breakfast.
Kind of hard to see, but Isak is wearing Dad's shoes.
Kira being silly with 2 strainers and playing peekaboo.
Kira looking cute with her purple toys.
One snowy morning we enjoyed watching these two birds in our backyard.
I zoomed in and got this picture.
I love my zoom, can you even see the birds in the picture below?
We got out of the house one day...haha...it's pretty rare anymore.  Anyways, we went to the Berewick Rec Center and let the kids run around.  Then we went to McDonald's afterwards.  It was so nice to get out and let the kids have a new experience.  They are funny though.  They stuck pretty close to each other, even though it was playgroup with lots of other kids.
I think Charlotte will be a doctor someday.  A very pretty doctor!
Charlotte, Isak and Kira playing and running around.
It was a good way to burn off some energy.  They had a good nap too.
And that is the end of February!  I am all caught up.  Unbelievable, huh?!

Valentine's Day and A Date

When I saw these adorable Valentine shirts in Walmart, I couldn't help myself.  I had to buy them!  I tried to get some pictures.  Oh these two...they just melt my heart and remind me not to take life so seriously!

So here's our heartbreakers...
Isak's shirt says, "Caution I Break Hearts"  haha.  Love it.

We watched Charlotte so her parents could go out.  Then the next weekend we went out.  Yay!  She had a way cute Valentine's outfit on too.
They lined up like that on their own.  Ha ha.  I like how the girls are looking at Isak.

Nels helped get a cute grin from Kira.
We had a fabulous date.  Since we hadn't been out in a while, we totally splurged and ate at 131 Main near Uptown Charlotte.
It's in a cute area and we saw a few other restaurants that we want to try next time.  Our wonderful selfie.
And here's our meal...blackened cajun chicken with a wild mushroom asparagus sauce and the yummiest mashed potatoes and a delicious salad with pulled chicken, avocado and feta cheese.  We shared each others food because it was all so good.
The restaurant was cozy and quiet with brick fireplaces, red booths and candles.
My dinosaur face for this amazing dessert.
And yes, we ate every last bite of our meals and dessert.  Mmmmmm good!
It's always good to go on a date and reconnect.  I highly recommend it. :)

January-Not Much

We did not do much in January other than to be sick!  Kira and Isak had double ear infections, Nels got the flu and missed a week of work.  Then I got the flu too.  We stayed home a lot and drove each other crazy!  ha ha.

Here's some pictures of a few moments we did have in January.
My kids love puzzles.  These little three and four piece puzzles that spell words are a hit with the kids.  They already have their favorites and the other person better not touch their favorites!
The high chairs are getting used less and less.  Isak and Kira love to eat at the big table on a big chair.
Nels's parents sent Kira a fun package.  The kids spent a good 15 minutes unwrapping it.  I got some cute videos of Kira supervising and then Isak giving directions.  So funny.

This pretty bike was inside the package!  Kira looooves it!
Looking cute with her star sunglasses.

Bracelet, check. Bus, check. Sunglasses, check.  Adorable, check! haha.
Ready or not, here they come!

"Should I wear it like this mom?"
The kids want to "help" in the kitchen more and more...Kira helped stir the rice.
I made some burp cloths for my sister-in-laws new baby.  Isak thought it was fun to put it on his head and walk around.  Don't worry I washed it again before sending it to the new baby!

Just being cute 2 year olds.
Coloring.  They actually color for about 5 minutes now.  Big improvement. :)
These are the little hats I made for Annica, our newest niece.
I made this hat for a friend's daughter who turned 1.
Trying to eat some fish more often...meaning once a month is more often. haha.  Here's our lemon pepper salmon.  It was actually really yummy.
That's all of the pictures for January.  We just tried to get healthy.  Of course, the trick is staying healthy and we haven't seemed to learn that one yet.
