December Wrap Up

Pictures from December.

Red Robin was having a free shake deal that we happily took advantage of.
The kids loved the shakes. :)

I tried and tried to get cute pictures of the kids standing in front of the Christmas tree.  This is one of the attempts.
Isak's cool hairdo.  He got his haircut at Sports Clips.
Kira is super good at puzzles.  She spends a lot of time concentrating on it.
We try to have some fun.  It's mostly Nels being silly with the kids.  Isak caught Dad's nose.
Chowing down on dinner.
Isak loves to eat whatever Dad is eating.  That's sometimes how I bribe them to it..."this is like dad's sandwich."  haha.
Isak learned how to wink. ;)
Sad, sad week.  I had the vomit flu, the kids had colds and Nels was gone for the week.  Hardest week of my life!!!  But I did enjoy all of the snuggles.  Kira had to sleep next to me for nap and one night.  After that she was okay being in her crib.  She just looked so peaceful.  I had to take a pic.
Me pretending to sleep while I took the picture.  haha.
When they were not being held, the twins just cried at my feet while I made them food to eat.  So sad.
They just didn't have any energy.  Kira just slept in my arms and Isak was content with his head on my lap while we watched a show.

And sometimes it was just hard to share mom's lap...
But we recovered in time for the holiday's.
Picture of Kira...I think this was actually Christmas Day...I made muffins.
Sleeping Isak.
Isak perfecting his wink.
Isak's train set in action.
The kids did this on their own.  Sat in chairs with their little laptops.
Isak was in heaven with all of Nels's old car magazines.
And Kira with her little hat on.  She likes to wear it, even when we are just hanging out inside.
That's all of the pictures for December.

Merry Christmas!

Here's a Christmas Photo Story:
I really liked the kids's Christmas shirts.  Kira's says "I Love Santa" and Isak's says "Daddy's Big Helper."

Pictures in front of the tree.  Kira was really good for me and stood still so I could get a good shot!
Holding the Jingle Bells I made for the twins.  We sang Jingle Bells almost every night as a family and jingled those bells silly.
Best shot of Isak with his shirt on, and dad's shoes. :)
You can't see it very well, but Christmas Eve was the first time they held hands all on their own!  Nels and I were doing the dishes when we looked over and they were walking around holding hands.  I ran to grab the camera.  :)
I envisioned a pajama picture in front of the tree.  I practiced the timer shot with Kira.
Isak played with the tree.
And this is the best family pajama tree shot.
Couple shot...why not?  It was all set up and ready to go.
We enjoyed playing Santa this year.  We wrapped most of the gifts a different night, so it wasn't too bad Christmas Eve.  Yes, the ornaments are mostly on the top half of the tree. ha ha.
I didn't take many pictures Christmas day while they unwrapped their gifts.  I just tried to enjoy the moment.  It was truly a blast!  Here's Kira with her new Sunglasses and Bracelets.
Isak with his new hot wheel car.
Big gift...Kira got a Little People Dollhouse.
Isak got a train set.
They share pretty well.  I LOVE having new toys.  They play and play.  It was a perfect Christmas day.
Other pictures with Christmas...this is from the ward Christmas party.

Best one of the twins in front of the tree.

And that's all.  We really enjoyed the magic of Christmas this year.
Hope you all had a nice Christmas too!!

McAdenville - Christmas Town!

To help us get into the Christmas season, we hopped over to McAdenville, NC for some Christmas lights.
McAdenville is also known as Christmastown, USA...est. 1881 (according to the sign. :)  It is a neat place.  The whole city is lit up.  There is bumper to bumper traffic in order to see all the lights.  We went on a week night because the website said weekends are super busy.  It still took us about an 1 hour and half to drive through...but we also stopped for some hot cocoa.
Hot Cocoa and cookies, of course.  It was a cute little shop.  They even had some gingerbread houses on display.
Kira wouldn't look at the camera...

I made the kids Christmas hats.  I thought they turned out cute.  The snowflake was fun to make too!
Rocking chairs.  It was just an idyllic Christmas moment.
The lake had a colorful fountain and lighted trees all around.
The whole drive is only 1.3 miles.  We enjoyed the slow drive while we listened to Amy Grant's Christmas CD.
There were many people who walked the mile...maybe next year we will do that.
This helped us get excited for Christmas.  Oh, and the kids said (occasionally yelled), "tree" and "lights" during the drive.  Trees and lights are about the only thing the twins understood about Christmas this year.  :)
