Wing Haven Gardens

For playgroup we went to a place called Wing Haven Gardens.  Beautiful gardens.  We just walked around and took pictures.

We decided to get a picture of the kids...here is how it started out.  Charlotte and Isak far apart and no other kids.  They were the obedient ones...hee hee.
We got them close together thanks to Charlotte listening.
A few more attempts and we achieved this. :)  I think it is funny how Isak and Charlotte are looking at Jessie and baby Cora.
Kira was mooooody!  She was often in my arms during this outing.
Isn't he a sweetie.  Isak was super well behaved.
He carried his white Camaro around.
Love little boys and their cars.
I made Kira's head band.  The flower is so fun to make!
There were quite a few people at the gardens and the weather was nice and crisp.

Kira found her happy place walking around this white bench.
Isak man just chillin'.
And this face broke out every couple of minutes.  She just had a really hard time.
Isak thought it was so funny to go inside the tree.
This really tall tree.
Another picture attempt with the kids.  I think it's so funny how they are so far apart.

I tried to get a nice picture of me and the twins...but Kira was not liking that idea!
Happy to be back at the bench.
A big smile from Kira.  Yay!  Isak really did have fun, he was just pretty mellow.
I tried to enjoy the beauty even though Kira was crying and whining most of the time.
It's a good thing she's cute!!
Just another day in the gardens...so picturesque.
Pretty Charlotte.
After one more meltdown from Kira, we packed up and left.  Thankfully, she is doing much better.
Thanks for a fun playgroup!!

Geocache Adventure

We invited our friends to go geocaching with us.  They had never been and Nels and I have only done it a couple of times.  We looked some up in the area and found one that looked fairly easy with a nice hike.  So we headed to Seven Oaks Trail just a short drive away.

We took one umbrella stroller and the stroller did surprisingly well on the trails.  The twins took turns walking or sometimes being carried.

Here's the guys pushing these cute kiddos.
This is a little blurry, but Kira is actually looking at the camera!
 The girls.
Kira rested on this little stump.
We found our dream house. hee hee.  But sadly, we did not find the geocache.  Our biggest and dumbest mistake...we forgot our GPS and just had a compass.  What were we thinking???  After we hiked for a long time we finally realized we needed to put the coordinates in the GPS! DUH!?  Oh dear, sometimes we get wrapped up in conversation that we don't think about what we are doing.  Anyone that knows us well, knows how that goes! haha.
Good thing it was a gorgeous day and it was absolutely lovely to be outdoors in nature.

Here's the trail.  We did download a GPS app on our phones and put the coordinates in.  We still couldn't find it.  Later that day, I received an update on this particular cache.  It said that it had been found and all was well with it.  I guess we just didn't look in the right spot.
The kids took a break on this little log.
Isak and Kira are wearing their BYU t-shirts.  Size 2T.  Kira's is huge on her.
I love how Charlotte is smiling and Isak is looking sweetly at her.
The babies were pretty good on the hike and I think we will hike again.
 Good smile from Kira.
Do you see the bright yellow in the far background and then white...that's the boys trying to find the cache.  There were lots of cobwebs so I happily watched the kids while they ventured off the path.
Although we didn't find the cache we ended on our trip happily with frosties at Wendy's.
The End.

Noah's Art

On to September!
We did a few fun things in September.  For a playgroup, we went to a place called Noah's Art.  The twins were exposed to all sorts of different art projects.  From painting to markers to chalk, they explored and created for an hour.

We went with our friend Tiersha and her daughter Charlotte.
Here's a few pictures.
Kira with the markers and Charlotte painting in the background.
Kira really liked pulling the lids off of the markers and putting them back on.
Charlotte painting.
Isn't she a cutie?
3 Artists.
Isak loves the color orange.  Whenever I give him choices of colors for spoons and bowls, etc. he always chooses orange.
Love the little aprons.

Isak tried water coloring too.
Kira did pretty well.  But there were a ton of kids and adults crammed into a small room.  She got overwhelmed and any time I wasn't near her this is what would happen.  Poor girl.
This was Isak's favorite activity and once he started he didn't want to leave.  You roll a car through paint and then roll it onto your paper.
Kira was really good at it.  See her rolling it in the paint and then...
Rolling it on her paper.  Isak pretty much played with the cars and got very upset when it was time to wash his hands and leave the cars behind.
Kira and Charlotte with the chalk and chalkboard.
Content as can be.
Tiersha took a picture for me of the three of us.

And this is what the building looks like...
Here's all of Isak's art.
He wanted to show me how he made it...
Here's Kira's art.
Pretty good water coloring, don't you think?  :)
It was a fun outing...a little stressful.  I was worried about getting the paint on my clothes, but I think we all made it out paint free.  I think it will be even more fun in about 6 more months when they are a little older.  But they have started to enjoy coloring more.  Fun, fun!
