The Kiwi.co Yum Crate

I got the Yum crate from Kiwi.co for Sofie and Noah.  It was a lot of work!  But I sure enjoyed being with these two kiddos.  They learned a lot about cooking and we had fun disguising the food.
The first thing we made was meatloaf and we made it look like a cake!
They learned how to peel potatoes and chop some onion and mix.
We used beet juice to make the mashed potatoes pink!

They were so proud of it.
Dad came home just in time to be tricked into eating cake for dinner.

The second thing we made was egg muffins for breakfast.  They cracked lots of eggs.
Whisked them...

Chopped some meat up.
And then the muffins were ready for the oven.
We put food dye in two of them...purple and orange.
The third thing we made together were sugar cookie french fries with strawberry ketchup.
They folded fry holders and made labels for them.  Mystery Food... :)
The fries were pretty good and everyone actually liked them.

The yum crate also came with taste testing supplies.  The kids really enjoyed this.  They wore a blindfold and nose plugs then tasted skittles and said what they thought the flavor was.  We recorded each persons results.
We did all of this cooking during fall break.  I'm glad we did it.  We really enjoyed our time together.

Tims Ford State Park

We explored Tims Ford State Park.  It's about an hour south of us.  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our two mile hike along the lake.  There were also two or three suspension bridges that were fun to walk across.  Beautiful area.
Here's the kids on the bridge.
I loved seeing the lake through the trees.
Here's a lookout point.

Noah posing. 💙

Here's one of the bridges.
The lighting was terrible...but here we are as a family...the lake is behind us.

Finding walking sticks, leaves, and rocks is a favorite thing to do while hiking.

We even saw an armadillo!

There was a gentle breeze that rustled the leaves and sometimes they floated down from the trees.
We had about a half hour left, when Noah started to really struggle and didn't want to walk anymore.  I helped keep his mind distracted with funny stories that he helped to tell too.  One was about 3 dinosaurs finding a rainbow dinosaur.  Another was about a daddy bear feeding his 10 cubs.  I turned that one into a math problem.  He fed two, three already ate, so how many were left to feed?  Noah seemed to enjoy it and it was fun for me too.  :)

After the hike, we drove around the campsites for future reference.  Then we drove home.  It was a great time outdoors.

Photoshoot on the Stairs

One day we had a photoshoot on the stairs.  😊
I think I got some cute pictures!

I love this one!
I was trying out my remote photo clicker...boy that was fun...
Even Nels had some good laughs with it...
This one turned out pretty cute.

Sometimes I the picture wouldn't take after I clicked the button...so I was getting mad! Haha!
Us girls.

They had a hard time all fitting on one stair...They're getting bigger.
Flashback to April 2018!  Such cuties!!!
