We explored Tims Ford State Park. It's about an hour south of us. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our two mile hike along the lake. There were also two or three suspension bridges that were fun to walk across. Beautiful area.
Here's the kids on the bridge.
I loved seeing the lake through the trees. Here's a lookout point.

Here's one of the bridges.
The lighting was terrible...but here we are as a family...the lake is behind us.
Finding walking sticks, leaves, and rocks is a favorite thing to do while hiking.
We even saw an armadillo!
There was a gentle breeze that rustled the leaves and sometimes they floated down from the trees.
We had about a half hour left, when Noah started to really struggle and didn't want to walk anymore. I helped keep his mind distracted with funny stories that he helped to tell too. One was about 3 dinosaurs finding a rainbow dinosaur. Another was about a daddy bear feeding his 10 cubs. I turned that one into a math problem. He fed two, three already ate, so how many were left to feed? Noah seemed to enjoy it and it was fun for me too. :)
After the hike, we drove around the campsites for future reference. Then we drove home. It was a great time outdoors.
