October 15 - Saturday
After lunch, we drove 25 minutes north to Mill Ridge Park for the Kite Flying Festival! It rained right as we got there, but thankfully it only rained for a few minutes. Then it warmed up and was very nice.
There were kites for everyone to fly. There were lots of ups and downs with the kites and the kids emotions! Kids cried when they needed help and had to wait for help. Strings got tangled. Kids tripped and fell and got dirty. There were great moments too. Like when the kite lifted into the sky.
Kira loved the ladybug Kite.
It was just a huge place to run and fly the kites.
Noah loved it.
Sofie did too.
Here's Nels helping Isak get his kite up.
After flying kites, we enjoyed some yard games. Hula hoop.
The ladder game.
Connect Four. Kira beat Nels like four times in a row and finally Nels beat her. Haha!
And surprisingly, all of the kids had a blast with the binoculars.
They spent quite a bit of time looking through them.
It was a pretty area and when the kids didn't need anything, I took a moment just to enjoy the nature.
Beautiful Tennessee Hills with color changing leaves and an old dilapidated barn.
It was a fun family outing.
