April Outings

Our most expensive outing was to a piano store in Franklin, TN.  We finally bought a piano!  I'm so excited.  We got a Yamaha digital piano.  We are actually still waiting for it to arrive!  We hope it comes before summer.
I was thrilled to learn that Taylor Swift (photo bottom left corner) bought a piano from this store too!
The salesperson was very kind and happy for us.  She took our picture.
Afterwards we ate at Moe's for some Mexican food.  Then we went to Pinkerton Park and let the kids run around and explore a new park.

They loved this swing, well 3 of the 4 liked it.

It was a cute wood playground.
We went on a short walk over this cool bridge.

Then we drove home.  I still remember there was an orange full moon out and the kids "chased" the moon all the way home.
Soccer game outing.  Art time for the rest.

And Kona Ice afterwards.  Yum!
I'm counting church as an outing this month.  Haha.  I loved seeing Sofie and Kira in their new matching rainbow dresses.

Kira sewed this cloud with a rainbow.
Noah was feeling left out so I took a picture with him.

Aw, Noah.  You're a cutie.
We're enjoying our yard, even if it is small.  It's nice to have grass and a fence and to be able to play safely.
On my drive, I pass this field of yellow.  I just love it.
All lined up and ready for a bike ride.  I got to ride my bike too!  First time since my surgery last year.
Soccer outing...and art.

It's hard to get a good pic...they move so fast.  But there's Isak in front of the ref in yellow.
We played at the playground after the soccer game.

Isak made two or three goals this season.  He really enjoyed playing.  I loved watching.  Nels wants to coach some time.

Kona ice wasn't there after the game.  So we went to Kroger and everyone picked out a flavor of ice cream.  😁
We practice soccer in the backyard.  The goal is between the chairs.
Lined up and ready for a walk.
Oh yeah, we are so cool with our glasses and stuffed animals walking the neighborhood.  😂
And that's it.  Nothing too crazy.  The weather is hit or miss.  We all love the warmer days!

Easter!

We did a few things to celebrate Easter.  One of my favorite things we did, was every night we learned about Jesus and the events that led up to his death and resurrection.  We also followed the Because of Him Easter Study Plan in the Gospel Library.  We watched short videos and I found some great Easter church songs too.

We also did some fun things.  Including Egg Mazing...

Everyone got to decorate about 6 eggs.  Then we hid them around the house to practice for the egg hunt.  :)
We made resurrection rolls.  We all really enjoyed this and hope to add it to our Easter traditions.
We just followed along with the directions.  Jesus's body was the marshmallow.  You wrap the marshmallow in biscuit dough.  After it bakes and you cut the biscuit open the marshmallow is gone.  The kids were so surprised!  "Where did the marshmallow go?!"  Just like the tomb was empty, the biscuit is empty.  Jesus has Risen!

We also did our Easter Egg Lesson with 12 eggs that help tell the story of Christ's death and resurrection.
Easter morning.  Church starts at 8:30 a.m. But it wasn't a problem, the kids were excited and woke up at 6:15 a.m.  This year we gave them each a hooded bath towel.

Heehee.  They're so cute!

And just before the egg hunt, I love how Sofie gives Noah a little advice.  💜
Then they ran around the house to collect the 198 eggs.
Afterwards they sorted and traded all day.
We did get a package of peeps and a box of chocolate covered marshmallow eggs.  We all made it to church.  Nels made pancakes afterwards.  For dinner we had potatoes, stuffing, broccoli and rotisserie chicken.  I made an angel food cake for dessert with strawberries and whip cream.
Because of Jesus we can be together forever.  We are so thankful for his life and gift to all of us.
Happy Easter!

School in April

Here's a few pictures about school.

Noah and Sofie were pizza makers.  This activity helped them with shapes and counting.

Aren't they the cutest pizza makers?
Sofie decorated her hat with lots of pandas too.
Sofie was a super star student.  I love getting these nice post it notes from their teacher.
The Discovery Center and Nashville Zoo came to visit the kindergarten class.  They got to pet a turtle, snake, rabbit and a few other animals.  Here's Noah very carefully touching a turtle.
Kids at school really like Pokemon.  So Isak wanted to play his Pokemon game with me.  We played it.  Then he took it to school for game day.  So sad, some of the kids took his cards and refused to give them back.  Oh the tears.  I felt so bad for him.
Sofie and Noah got to be zookeepers at school.  So cute!
Here's a picture of Kira that her teacher sent.  Isn't she a sweetie?
We are making it through school.  Lots of learning...both academically and socially.   Overall, the kids enjoy Salem and have great teachers.
