Finishing School

Isak and Kira finished 2nd Grade and Sofie and Noah finished Pre-K.  I'm so proud of all of them and all they have learned this year.

We made some teacher appreciation cards.  Isak and Kira filled them out.

The art teacher made a virtual art show.  Here's Isak's art...
Here's Kiras's art.
I have loved all of the creative ways the teachers have made learning available this past year.  And I loved watching the kids adapt and be creative with them.

Last day of school for Sofie and Noah.  Sofie with her teddy bear.

Noah's last day of school picture.
Picture with teddy's.
I love this one:
Their class tie dyed some shirts.  Here's their class and teachers.
We gave Isak and Kira's teacher an amazon gift card.  I found the printable for it.  So cute.
Isak's last day of 2nd grade picture.
Kira and Isak:
Sweet Kira's last day of 2nd grade.

We did it.  Last time dropping them off at the bus stop.
After school, we had ice cream with unlimited toppings.  Yum!  They loved it!

Although, Noah did not want any toppings...just vanilla ice cream.  ðŸ˜€
Art, and some writing that Isak did this year.
Kira got a "love" note from a boy.  Heehee.  I found it when we went through her papers.  "Your unicorns are so good and your hand writing is way good.  Your pictures are really cool and awesome.  Some day you will be tall like me."  All Kira had to say was, "he doesn't know how to spell very well."  ðŸ˜‚
Writing and work that Kira did this year.

More from Isak.
And this picture wraps up the school year for our family!  Ice cream celebration!

G & G Nyborg Visit

Nels's parents flew out on Sunday, May 16th.  Their flight was delayed and they ended up arriving around 8 pm.  The kids were SO excited to see them.  They lined up and waited for them to come in the door...

Isak and grandpa quickly snuggled and read before bedtime.  Yep, they jumped right in to help Nels and me with everything.
Monday morning - G & G got all of the kids breakfast, lunch and off to school!  They did great.  Then Donna cleaned the kitchen and folded the mountain of laundry!

Once Sofie and Noah came home, Bob played with them.  Fred the Alligator was a hit!  I hadn't heard Noah laugh like that in a long time.  It made my heart happy.  As you can see, Sofie and Noah get in their jammies right when they get home.  Haha.
Noah took a turn with Fred.  He got grandma while she was folding the laundry.  Noah had Fred give the girls kisses and tickles to the boys.
Isak and Bob played monopoly.  Kira and Bob spelled words and rhymed words.

Isak and Kira performed their singing concert at home.  So cute!  I loved watching them sing and do the actions to the song.  "Moving Right Along,"  "You'll Have a Friend in Me," and "You are Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" were the songs they performed.
Here's photos from other days of their time here.

Grandma and Sofie played Pretty, Pretty Princess.  A favorite around here.
Reading together...
Monopoly time:
Kira taught Grandma how to make a book.  Frowny faces to be funny.
See how they laugh...
Cutie pies.
Ready for school.
Grandpa got to play Pretty Pretty Princess too, much to Sofie's delight.

Isak and Kira had field day.  They got to wear these cute shirts.

Snuggles before leaving for school.
G & G bought each of the kids a plant.  Isn't that so fun.  Noah got a Sunflower.  Sofie got a purple Sylva plant.  Kira got a Coleus plant with green and purple/red leaves.  Isak got a Coleus with light and dark green leaves.

Noah's sunflower ended up with a funny/sad story.  We planted the sunflower.  The next morning Grandma asked Noah if he wanted to see his plant.  We looked out the window and a rabbit had eaten the flower off!!  A few hours later all of the leaves were gone and just the stalk was left.  ðŸ˜¥  Noah handled it well.  And we can laugh about that silly rabbit now.
Here's the rabbit that ate his sunflower!

Sofie with her plant.
Isak worked hard to dig.  Noah supervised.
Kira with her plant.
Grandma, Kira and Sofie planted Sofie's plant.
Kira got dirt in her sandal.  Oh no!   😂  So she came inside and helped me make dirt pudding.  The kids enjoyed the treat to go with our planting day activity.
Nels and Bob smoked some amazing ribs.
Donna made Sofie a 3 layer, 6 inch round cake for her birthday.  Sofie, Kira and Donna decorated it with frosting and made carrots, bunnies and hearts on it.  Very cute.

She finally got the cake she wanted for her birthday, thanks to Grandma!!

Noah didn't want cake, he wanted little white donuts.  :)
Bob and Donna cleaned and cleaned while they were here.  They worked inside and out.  It helped so much.
Sofie did some sidewalk chalk while they swept the driveway.
Watercoloring:
Here's what they painted.
Grandma hugs.
I practiced walking more and more.  So we would go on little walks to get me out and about.
One night Donna made some blue Jello and put Swedish fish in it.  Sadly, the jello was ocean flavored instead of blue raspberry and it did not taste very good.  But it was fun to look at.
I snuck out and got this picture of G & G taking Isak and Kira to the bus stop.
And here they are!
Our saying while they were here, "It's what grandparents do." :)

I was able to heal and continue my recovery.  Nels was able to go to work.  And the kids got to have a wonderful time with G & G!  We're so thankful they came.
