August Outdoors Part 2

August Outings Continued - 

Our friends invited us to use their pool.  It was so fun.  Everyone had a great time.

Even Noah enjoyed sitting on the tube for a while.

Sofie is so brave and is happy to try new things.  She even jumped off the diving board twice!  

The two guys are our friends.  

They took turns throwing Isak.  Isak loved it.  It kind of made me nervous!

Noah tried some goggles on.

Bike ride to the big rock.  Noah didn't want to be in the picture.

But I snuck a photo of him on his bike.

We biked to the fairy garden.  It's a 3 mile round trip.

Popsicles everyday.  Always a favorite time.

We biked to it as a family.  It's always fun when dad comes with us!

We practiced camping!!  We're planning on a camping trip over Labor Day weekend.  Since I'm not a camper and none of the kids have camped, we thought we should practice.  So Isak and Nels set up our 8 person tent.  Nels bought everyone an air mattress and sleeping bag.  

Here's the set up:

We ate the best burgers that night... BBQ pineapple, bacon burgers and made s'mores too.  Poor Nels had the roughest night.  He tried to kill all the bugs in the tent before going to sleep...that took a while.  Then at 1 a.m. he had to go to the bathroom.  And that woke me and Sofie up.  Then around 5 or 6 a.m. he went in the house to sleep because he was cold.  Poor Nels.  But the rest of us did pretty well.  I actually enjoyed it a little.  :)

Another day...A new park...Dryden Park.

The kids loved this turtle.

So sweet....

Isak ran an obstacle course that we timed.  He did it over and over to try and cut seconds off his time.  He's a determined little boy.

Then we took them for ice cream at Dairy Queen.

Another day...I took Sofie and Noah to Randall Square Park.

Another day...I took Isak and Kira on a bike ride while Sofie and Noah were in school.  Sometimes their school days match and sometimes they don't.  

We stopped at the park nearby before riding our bikes home.  I got this picture of Isak.  :)

And those are our outings for August.  Lots of parks and bike rides.  

August Outdoors Part 1

Welcome to August!  Another fun month of summer.  We got to spend a lot of time outdoors.  Here's some photos of our outings.  

We rode bikes to the playground.  Sofie and Noah rode their bikes around the basketball court.  So cute.

Isak and I work on our monkey bar skills.  Isak is SO good at them.  

Roasting marshmallows on the grill for s'mores.   Noah loves to cook them, but not eat them.

Sofie loves to eat them.

Nels and I grilled peaches after the marshmallow roasters were done.

Added some ice cream on top....oh so delicious.

One day...I was cleaning inside the house and checked on the kids playing outside...this is what I found.  At least they are wearing boots.  Their older brother helped them out by turning the hose on and filling the hole with water.  Nice and muddy.

We checked out a new park.  It's right by the new library.  So we got a lot of books from the library and then the kids played for a while.

It's a really cute park.  This was one of the first outings we went on that the kids needed to wear masks.  It was good practice for them.

Another park...Big Woods Park.  A great park with a trail loop too.  It was a fun one.

And there's me...I try to run around with them and exercise.  I'll race Isak, do monkey bars and follow the kids around.  They love it.  

Another day we went and explored Island Park.  You have to walk a little bit to get there.  The trail is along the river.  So pretty.

There was a fun zip line at the park.

We checked out the lily pads too.

Then we threw rocks in the river for a bit.

Isak left his water bottle right here at the rock throwing spot.  We didn't realize it until after we got home.  So then we drove all the way back and luckily it was still there.  

Another day.  I just took the kids for a walk on the mile trail near our house.  Just to enjoy the weather and the sun was setting.  

We saw some beautiful flowers.

Jaelyn brought water balloons over.  It was fun!
