Biltmore in March

We did a day trip to the Biltmore with Nels's parents.  Overall, the twins did awesome and we all enjoyed ourselves.  Of course, I took a ton of pictures.   You are not allowed to take pictures inside the mansion..but I still ended up with a lot.

I accidentally forgot about the rule of no cameras so these first two are from inside the house.  There is a garden area and Kira just climbed right up on the bench and sat down, so cute.  I started snapping pictures.
Oh, look at those grins!
On the balcony of the Biltmore, Kira made herself comfortable.

The view...kind of bland in early spring.
Love her smile.

Kira did not want to be in the family pic.  Look at those stiff legs, haha.
Isak and Kira climbed up and down every stair.  They loved it.
And we carried their strollers for them.  But once in a while they did get tired and we were glad we had the strollers.
The gardens...here are the twins just taking a leisurely walk together

Daffodils and crocuses were in bloom.

Here's the crew headed to the conservatory.
Can you see Kira peeking between my legs?
Oh, there she is!
On the walk to the conservatory, Kira fell and bruised/scraped her eye and Isak fell and bit his lip.  So they both got some injuries.
Took time to take some family photos.

They did this one all on their own.  Poor Isak's lip got pretty big.
But aren't they adorable!

See under Kira's eye a bit scraped up...
Since the kids didn't want to be in the pictures with us before, I asked Nels's dad to just take one of Nels and me.  Before he could take the picture look who willingly decided to join us! haha.

Lots of walking.
Far Far and Isak holding hands.

Nels being silly with his mama.
But here is a good one!
I liked this view of the house.
So I asked Nels's parents to hop in the picture....well, the twins did it again and ran to be in the picture too.  We were all laughing.

Then they just ran around.

But after some running, they just decided to stand by each other...on their own!!  I was dying!
Melt my heart!
I tried to imagine being a little girl and growing up in the big house.  Little Kira in her red jacket helped me picture it better.

I really liked my outfit for the day. :)
This is a favorite!

Yay for happy parents!

We stopped at Antler Village and saw some chickens and goats.  The kids seemed to enjoy it.

Such a sweet boy...most of the time. :)

Sweet moment.
This was an interesting chicken....the white chicken has feathers on its feet.
Little Kira kept her hands away from the pecking chickens.
The goats were fun to watch too.

After Antler Village we stopped at Juicy Lucy's for some big burgers.  Then we drove home and the kids zonked out.  So it was a peaceful drive home.  :)

And I'll post my favorite picture again.  Me with Prince Charming and our castle in the background. heehee.

ImaginOn and Belmont Soda Fountain

Finally!  I am going to post something.  We had some wonderful visitors these past two months.  So the next few posts will be about our adventures.

Nels's parents came to visit us the middle of March.  They stayed for a week and we stayed pretty busy while they were here.  We went on at least one outing a day.  I usually don't go out that often, so I was pretty tired by the end. haha.  Overall, the kids were awesome and they got attached to Far Mor and Far Far pretty fast!  For about two mornings after they left, Isak would ask, "Far Mor?"  When he says it, it sounds like "farmer."  So cute.  He wanted to know if she was there.  And when I said "no, she went home."  He just nodded his sweet head.   Anyways!  Here we go:

Our first outing was to the huge library called Imaginon in uptown Charlotte.  Everyone had a blast.
Isak warmed right up to Far Far and only let Far Far push his stroller and hold his hand.

The kids liked to show off all the stuff they know how to do.

Far Mor and Far Far teased the kids with the puppets.
Kira laughed her head off!

They explored the Trolley.

I thought this green tree bench was so cute with the bookshelves behind it.  Perfect Photo Op is what  I thought.  But the kids thought otherwise.  This is the best pic. :)

Donna played dress up.  :)
This was the twins favorite activity.
Placing the ball and watching it roll down the tube.

I love this artwork.
Kira ran up the ramp to the second floor and back down and up and down....
She thought she was pretty cool stuff!
Driving the truck with Far Mor.
Isak was in heaven!
Look at little Isak's grinning face in the background!  Pure Joy!
After the library, we went to the Belmont Soda Fountain.  A new favorite of ours.  This was the first time we ate there.  They had snowflakes hanging down from the ceiling...that is what Isak is pointing at.
Love this picture of Far Mor and Kira while we waited for our food.

And Isak was just being adorable while we waited.  I love when he puts his little hands on his cheeks!
I am not sure what they are looking at, but they are doing it together. haha.
Drinking grape soda for the first time.
Isak shared his grape soda with Far Far.
And of course we had to order the banana split.

And the kids loved it!
I even got some.  :)

Grandkids and Grandparents were pretty much best friends after the ice cream. :)
