Happy Thanksgiving!!

Far Far and Far Mor (Nels's parents) came to help us celebrate Thanksgiving.  We had lots of yummy food and we got to do a few things too.
We had an easy thanksgiving dinner so we only spent maybe an hour in the kitchen.  The rest of the day we relaxed and went to the park.
Kira showed off her swinging ability with a huge smile.
I think the grandparents had fun with their grandkids.
Both of them just laughing.

Far Mor and Isak
Isak quickly wrapped Far Mor around his little fingers...literally. :)
Cuddles in the cold.  Keeping warm.
When Kira first saw Far Far she just cried and cried.  But after a few minutes they became best of friends.  Especially since Far Far read to her.
Thanksgiving dinner...filet mignon, twice baked potatoes, orange jello salad, strawberry spinach salad, rosemary bread and pumpkin pie.  Mmmmmm good.
Nels's parents gave the kids these adorable Adidas outfits.  Nels wore his Adidas sweatshirt to match them. :)
Nels was so cute one night with his parents.  They were sitting on the couch and Nels squeezed between them so he could show them something on his phone.  Just like a little boy. heehee.

Isak and Far Far.
We went on one big outing.
We went to the Historic Latta Plantation.
We toured the house.  Two things I remember from it.  There was this little rocking cradle and the tour guide said the baby would sleep in it until they were 5 years old!  They used rope to tie the baby in place.  It made me grateful for our cribs.  The other thing was this huge loom that took up an entire room.  A man was there weaving a rug.  He said it would take 3-4 days just to set up the loom with the yarn.  Wow, everything just took forever to do back then.
Here's the house and the kitchen is in the smaller second house.
Here's the barn.  They demonstrated wood making...toys that were made out of wood and some other things.

They had animals there...sheep, goats, chickens and pigs.
Me and Kira
The babies got to meet an old fashioned Saint Nick.
Kira was mad and did not want to have anything to do with him.
Isak on the other hand was fascinated.  :)
All together.

We enjoyed walking around and the fall colors.
Our little family.

It was a beautiful day.  Blue skies and all.
Last picture of Isak and Far Mor.
Afterwards we went to Jim and Nick's BBQ.  I love their cheddar biscuits!  It was a great day.

Family Pictures!

Warning!  Lots of pictures of the Nyborg's!  :)
I really wanted to get family pictures this year.  I searched online for photographers in the area.  My search pulled up several options and all of them seemed way to expensive for our budget.  Most sessions were about $150 to 300.  That would have been okay, but they didn't give you the pictures afterwards.  You had to buy the digital picture or buy prints from them.  Some had a minimum order of $300.  So $450 and up for family pictures!  I couldn't justify it.  Gratefully, I asked a friend at church if she knew anyone.  And she did...it turned out to be the girl who visit teaches me.  haha.  Katie is an exceptional deal.  Holy cow!  I felt like she was a total blessing and made our family pictures possible.  She charges $50 for the session and includes a CD of the edited images.  The cool part is she asks to be paid via her charity she is raising money for.  She sent a link and I selected one of her charities to contribute to.  I felt so awesome "paying" her!!  Katie is amazing and I love the pictures she took.  I am trying to select a couple for the gallery wall I am working on.  Which ones are your favorites?  I am numbering them so it's easier.

So what do you think?  I know there's a lot to choose from.  We tried to get pictures of just the babies together, but they would not cooperate.  That's okay though.  I love several of the whole family photos.  I think number 2 is my favorite family one.  What do you think? :)
