We had some amazing visitors come in June! It was so wonderful to have them and we went on some fun adventures. So who came? My sister Melissa and her son Michael, my younger sister Jenny and my sister-in-law Whitney and her daughter Ashlyn. Such a fun group!
I thought it was the perfect time to get a Costco Chocolate Cake! So this is us around the cake. We ate on that cake for at least four of the five nights! And there was still a chunk left at the end of their visit!
Left to right...Whitney, Jenny, Melissa and me.The kids were so happy to have people here. They loved Ashlyn and Michael and wanted to play with them, snuggle with them and read with them. So here we are snuggling and reading before bed.
Just having breakfast with our new BFF, Aunt Melissa. :)
Our first full day we went to Chicago. We left close to 9 a.m. and drove to Chicago. Traffic was pretty good. We found parking...$32/day. Then we walked to Millennium Park.
This is how our group rolled. :)
And yes, I took a lot of pictures. Here's the cloud gate, or bean...See our family there. Nels and I visited this place eleven years ago. We were just starting grad school at Purdue and had no children. Now we have four kids!
Melissa and Michael.Our selfie..
I thought this was a cute pic of Jenny.
Aunt Melissa taking a pic of me and Kira.See, even Noah was happy!
Sofie was interested, but really wanted to get out and explore.
Kira and the bean.
This is the center of the bean.
So cute.
Our family on the bean.
A group of kids came up to Nels and asked if they could get a pic with him...they were doing a scavenger hunt and needed to take a pic with someone wearing a cubs shirt. :)
The girls and the city. Kira refused to look up...
The tower fountains...
Aunt Jenny with her favorite five year old twins.
Then we walked to the Wrigley Fountain.
There was this cute little door there...
Sofie finally got out of the stroller. I love matching my girls clothes!
Sofie wanted my lap all to herself.
She was not happy about it.
And just glared at Kira.
Then we walked some more.
The visitors were awesome and took turns holding Kira and Isak's hands so Nels and I just had the babies to worry about.
We ate at Shake Shack for lunch. Yum!
Noah was having a hard time. I held him all during lunch. And Nels held Sofie.
This is what our crew looked like eating lunch. The visitors ate inside. The restaurant was super crowded. So we had to split up.
To be continued...
