Day 1 - After Lunch

After lunch we walked some more.  We saw this statue of Lincoln on our to the Buckingham Fountain.
And here is the fountain.  It was huge and beautiful.

I loved how on one side you have the lake as a backdrop and on the other side you have the city for the backdrop.

We walked down to the lake and it was just so beautiful.

Can't forget to take a pic of the stroller babies...look at that Noah smile.
The babies were sooooo good the whole day!
Lots of boats.
Then we walked a very long time...like two miles to Navy Pier.  Ashlyn and Michael took pity on Isak and Kira and carried them for a bit.

It was a pretty walk and we enjoyed seeing Chicago this way.  It was just tiring. :)  See the ferris wheel.  That's Navy Pier that we were walking to.
We walked along Lake Shore Drive.
We walked over bridges.

And finally made it to Navy Pier.  But no one wanted to go on the ferris wheel...it's pricey and then there were just shops and restaurants.
So we got on a water taxi that took us to Michigan Avenue.

View from the boat.

A pretty pic of Whitney.
Sofie got her wish and walked and walked.  So Kira gladly got a turn in the stroller.  Sofie insisted on wearing her hat she got on the water taxi.
You never know what you'll see in Chicago...like a giant sewing machine.
Noah took a turn walking.  So I got to walk with my boys on Michigan Avenue.
Standing in front of the candy store.
Another view of the city.
We went into the Disney store.  Noah was immediately drawn to Eeyore.  haha.  They have some things in common.
We enjoyed deep dish pizza at Gino's East.  I love their pizza and crust!
Here's our crew!

We went to the Lego store for a bit too.  Here's Kira with her friends.  :)
Then we walked back to the car.  On our way there, Spiderman said to Isak, "hey come say hello"  I was doing something and before I knew it Isak had walked away from me and was talking with Spiderman!  AH! Luckily, I was quick and the guy was nice but wanted money for Isak to take a pic with him.  Man, they are fast and then we had to tell Isak to not walk away with anyone...even Spiderman!
We watched the tower fountains spew water one more time.
Noah cried for about fifteen minutes of the walk and finally zonked out.  Two sets of cops stopped us and tried to find out what was wrong.  haha.  Noah has quite the scream!
A few last pics of the city.
We walked a total of 7 miles this day.
We drove home and put the sleeping kids to bed.  Then I ate cake with the visitors and we talked until 11 p.m.  That's a late night for me!  It was just a great and tiring day.  Happy tired though. :)
That's the end of Day 1.
