We decided to continue the birthday celebration with an outing to Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was about 2 pm by the time we left on our trip. We found some metered parking and went to the aquarium. I fed Sofie and Noah while Nels explored with the kids. Then we all saw the jelly fish and some other exhibits.
Nels was good too. haha. He did a rub coloring page too. They have a few different areas geared towards the kids.
We bought a magnet for our collection. Then we walked down Cannery Row. We went in a little shop and I bought a blue Monterey Bay Sweatshirt. We found Ghirardelli's and bought a $12 banana split. Expensive, but yummy. We sat on the balcony with heat lamps for warmth. It was already dark (even though it was only 5:30 p.m.) The moon was shining over the ocean and the waves were crashing onto the beach. It was a perfect moment. The babies slept peacefully in the stroller while the rest of us ate the ice cream and enjoyed the view.
See the moon...
Lots of chocolate!
After that we made our way home - with traffic it took us an hour and a half instead of 40 minutes! We bathed the kids and went to bed. A really fun and enjoyable day. It was great to do something different and explore as a family.
