January 2024 -
We got out a few times in January. One day we went to Cason Lane park and played. Kira made encouraged me to go down this twirly thing. I did it and it was pretty fun!
We played on these big rocks.
Isak and Kira had a robotics competition at Mount Pleasant, TN. It was an hour away and started at 7:30 a.m. and ended around 4 p.m. It was a long day. Nels took them while I took care of Sofie and Noah.
They did great and got 17th and 22nd place out of 40 or so teams. They also competed against 8th graders...their robots were pretty impressive.
I'm so proud of Isak and Kira for working hard and having good sportsmanship.
It snowed this year in Tennessee. The kids were thrilled! We found our snow clothes from Illinois. Everyone had grown out of things, but we made it work. I wore Nels's boots so Isak could wear my boots, so Kira could wear Isak's boots, so Sofie could wear Kira's boots! And Noah's boots that were too big in Illinois fit him great! Yay!

Because of the snow and the other inclement weather such as freezing rain, school was cancelled for 5 days! January 16-19 and January 22. We all enjoyed the week off! One of the days we bundled up and went to Barfield Park. We took our sleds just in case we found some hills. And we did find some small hills. We had a blast playing in the snow, walking and sledding. Isak, Noah and I had a snowball fight and we also built a snowman! Here's photos of our day.

Afterwards, we went to Costco for a few groceries and ate lunch there too.
