Winter Fun!

We got some snowman building snow in January.  We built a snowman just before the wind picked up and turned the snow icy.

But first some snow angels.

Sofie loves the snow!  Noah stayed inside...too cold, he said.

Isak and Sofie had a lot of fun rolling snowballs together.
Isak rolled this huge one.
I rolled this snowman.  Kira joined us a little later too.  Aunt Kierstin gave us the snowman decorations that really made the snowman come alive!

Ta-da!

Nels was sweet and took a pic of me with the kids and the snowman.
Sofie built a little snowman.

Pretty Kira.
Nels and Isak...Isak was pretty happy he was taller than Nels on his snowball.

Another day, I took all four kids on a mile walk and to the park.  It was about thirty degrees outside.
Noah threw a fit before we left.  He did not want to wear boots, snow pants or mittens!!  He was so mad.  But he changed his mind on the walk and was super good.  He actually liked walking on the slippery ice and snow.   He stayed close by me so I got a lot of pictures of him.

Love this boy even with all of his tantrums.
Our walk.

Shadows!
These kids make me laugh.  They are each so unique and different.  So when we all happen to be in good moods it's amazing to me and warms my momma heart!

By the time we got to the park the sun was setting and hitting the icy snow just right.  I love the glittery shimmer snow.
Slides for the boys.

Swings for the girls.

My happy Isak boy.
Noah wanted me to sit by him and pouted until I did.

Afterwards we went to Fresh Thyme and picked out lots of taffy for our treat box.
Pretty awesome day.  It's so nice to have one of those now and then!  ðŸ˜€

December Little Moments

December had a lot of little moments.  So here it goes.

My little three year olds.  So full of energy.  Sofie and Noah's Sunday best.
They were sitting and standing, sitting and standing.   But I managed to snap the photo just in time.

Sofie wore the Minnie Mouse ears while she colored.  I thought she looked so sweet.

Lots of play dough work with Sofie and Kira.  You can guess which one was the supervisor of this project.
New unicorn sweatshirt for Sofie.
So cute!
Taking time to read to these two.
Bath time.  I usually don't have my phone in the bathroom with me.  I'm so glad I did so I could capture these cute sisters.

LOVE this one!!
First grade writing from Isak...it was from October..."There is a haunted house on Grengs lane.  There is a spooky mommy (I'm hoping he meant mummy.) scary vampires.  There is a flying ghost there is a witch flying in the haunted house."
Kira's says "on Grengs lane there is a haunted house.  There is a lot of pumpkins and there are witches and ghosts and mummy and bats.  The haunted house is very very very scary!  Be Ware!!
It's so fun to see their writing and creativity.

Kira got to wear the Minnie Mouse ears...
A snow picture of Sofie...
I worked on coding Tic Tac Toe.  So fun.  I love learning how to do it.  But it's so frustrating too because I don't know very much!!!
Sofie loves to look at our photo albums.
Just a typical night for us.  Trying to read scriptures before bed...in the hallway with kids all over me. I feel very loved.  haha.
Here's a picture of Noah at preschool.
I had an extra two kids one day.  So I had four kids three and under.  Tough and fun.
Kira wrote this note to me.  "Dear Mommy, I am having a hard day.  Can you please help make it better like letting me have ice cream.  I love you!  Have a great day!  Love your sweet little Kira girl. 💕  Of course, she got some ice cream.
Sofie embracing the little bit of snow we got.
I know this doesn't look like much but Noah drew those big circles.  He called them ghosts and asked me to draw the eyes.  I was so proud of him because he does not color or draw much.
Thanksgiving writing from Isak.  I thought it was so cute!  "I am not a turkey, I am a police man!  He has blue on it.  He has a hat on him!  He takes bad guys to jail.  Surely you wouldn't eat a police man for thanksgiving!"

I took this picture while we waited for the bus one morning.  Just love that sweet smile!
My Isak boy.
I found this in Isak's backpack.  "I am thankful for books and for my family and for food and water and the alphabet."  I like how he is thankful for the alphabet.  :)
Nels bought a new smaller Fender amp for his guitar playing.  He got it for Christmas.
This is Sofie's coloring from preschool.  Her teacher told me she worked on it for two days.  So proud of her.
Kira gave me this note..."Mom?  How many days till Christmas not counting today???"  Very important question.
Here's a picture of Noah sleeping when he was super sick.  I got a lot of snuggles from this boy.
When he wasn't sweet, he was screaming his head off.  Poor kid, and my ears hurt from his crying.
We tried to help him feel better.  Nels even made him a mickey mouse quesadilla.
I'm sick too in this picture.  Me and Noah were the first to be sick.
The three kids lined up on the floor with throw up buckets at the end of our bed.  Noah slept on the floor near me.
Oh Sofie.  We're thankful you're such a cute monster.
Nels took a few days off during December.  Sadly we were sick for some of them.  But he got to spend some time playing Candyland with this little monster.
And Monopoly with his oldest son.
Isak made this helicopter out of k'nex.
Nels made an elephant pancake.
That front tooth is about to go!  And it did.  His old kindergarten teacher Mrs. Spence pulled it out for him at school.  He was pumped that the tooth fairy would be coming again.  He was so funny and wrote a note asking for more money, he wanted $5.  The tooth fairy wrote back, "Boy, you're a wheeler dealer.  But my boss is on a budget so I can only give you .50 cents more."  Haha.  So Isak got $1.50 instead of the normal dollar.  I guess it worked to ask.  He did get a little more.
Just some three year olds playing with tinker toys.
I love Sofie's Rapunzel hair.  :)
I forgot to put this one on the other post of pictures in front of the Christmas tree.  :)
I love seeing these brothers snuggle together while watching a show.
Unicorn dresses.
I found these cute unicorn tights for Kira!  ðŸ’•
First day of primary for my new Sunbeams.  Nels helped out and sat with them for a bit.
My handsome Isak...see the gap where his tooth is missing?
These girls are so cute and funny.  They drew and colored pictures of how they wanted me to paint their nails.  :)  Then we had some girl time painting their nails with the pattern they wanted.
We got started on my new years goal a day early.  On December 31, I started to give piano lessons to Isak and Kira.  My goal is to be consistent and help them learn the piano.  I thought Kira's nails looked pretty while she practiced.
Noah really likes to cut paper with scissors.
For New Year's Eve we started our family party at 4:30 p.m.  We played 3 games of Uno Attack.  Isak won twice and I won once.  Then we played Pictionary.  The girls team barely won.  Kira loved the game and drew the best pictures!
We had tacos, quesadillas and bean dip for dinner.  We popped popcorn and snuggled while we watched Toy Story 4.
We ate little white donuts and shouted "Happy New Year!"
It's our little tradition to have little white donuts.  I was surprised that we all stayed up until 11 pm!!
And that wraps up December and 2019.  Overall, 2019 was a good year for us.  I'm grateful for all of the adventures we were able to go on and for the family that came to visit.  Those were highlights for us.  The kids are growing up and that is so bitter sweet.

In reviewing my goals I made for 2019, I'm pleased with what I was able to accomplish.  Here's a few of the goals I finished:
Read War and Peace
Saints
Sense and Sensibility
I read other books but those were the ones I wrote down as a goal to do.
I also read all of the general conference talks from Oct. 2018 and April 2019.

Memorized The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles.

Did 2 chin ups in a row.
Did a 5K...so glad Nels did it with me.  That was fun!

I made two games using javascript and one in angular =  progress with coding.

Some goals that did not get accomplished...potty training Noah...tried and failed.  Swim lessons for Isak and Kira...didn't happen.  And some family outing ideas that we ended up not doing.

I don't have very specific goals for 2020 yet.  And January is almost over!  Like I previously mentioned, I want to teach Isak and Kira piano.  I also want to continue reading aloud to the kids more consistently.  Read the Book of Mormon.  Continue to learn coding.  Make some more YouTube videos.  That's about all.  So we'll see!

I think my focus for 2020 will be to enjoy and live these little moments with our family and try not to worry so much!
