5 Months

I remember with Kira and Isak just loving 5 months old.  Mostly because they started sleeping through the night.  These twins are different...sleeping through the night is a difficult concept for them.  haha.  I still enjoyed 5 months old, but I think I would have appreciated it more if I wasn't sleep deprived.  :)

We often say, "It's a good thing their cute!"  They are worth the struggles.
Especially when you see these goofy grins.
Getting taller.  Still a slender little boy.
Sofie showing off her roll over.
She's a wild one.  Wild for us anyways.  :)
And that's what Sofie and Noah looked like at 5 months old!

Kari's Visit and the Monterey Bay Aquarium

We made some applesauce chocolate chip cookies because we were going to have some visitors.  Aunt Kari and her family came to visit us.  They were on vacation site seeing San Francisco, Disneyland and San Diego.  So they made a stop to us on their way.  We were pretty happy to see family!

We met up at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  We both had a rough drive to the aquarium.  Kari's little girl Sadie threw up in the car and Isak threw up in our car!  Gross.  Thankfully, I brought a change of clothes for Isak and I had thrown in some extra wipes.  We went through all the wipes just cleaning up the throw up.  I'm grateful for the prompting to bring extra clothes and wipes and I'm glad I followed it!

Isak said he was fine after he threw up.  So we continued on our way.  And Isak was just fine the rest of the day.  Phew.  Poor Sadie slept in the stroller and was pretty sick.  :(

It was our first time at the aquarium.  We decided to just buy a year pass in case we had other visitors.  It's been great.  We've enjoyed going and learning at the aquarium.

Here's some pics:
There's me holding Kira and then Mason, Kari holding Khloe, Brynlee and Jared.  Babies are in the stroller.  Nels took the pic with Isak.

My babies have always loved Kari right away.  Here's Noah getting some snuggles.
Kira and Isak loved seeing the fish too.  It was pretty crowded, but we still got to see some things.  Slowly, but surely.
I liked watching these cute penguins.
Our selfie.
Looking through the telescope.
The cool egg chair.
Mason and Isak in the egg.
Kira had a hard time with all the people.  So we went outside for a minute to calm down.  That's why her sweet face is a tad red.
Riding the seahorse.
My other favorite part was the jellyfish exhibit.

After the aquarium we ate at our favorite pizza place, Gianni's.  Right before they left we lined up the twins for a pic.  Her twins are 3 months older than ours.  So left to right...Khloe, Kaden, Noah and Sofie.  Aren't they cute!!?
Isak with them.
Brynlee, Mason, Isak and Kira.  Poor Sadie was still sick.  After the pic we went our separate ways.  It was fun to see them.  And we made it through a pretty big outing!

Pumpkin Patch

October is a fun month.  Besides being Nels's birthday month, we enjoy pumpkins and fall activities.  So we found a pumpkin patch to go to near Morgan Hill.  It was fun to get out and see all the pumpkins.

We actually got a family picture too.  It's so hard to get one with all six of us, so I treasure them.  Even though some aren't looking at the camera.  :)
There were hay bales to walk on.
And lots of pumpkins to choose from.
The boys.
There was a cute measuring stick.

Yep, Isak is a lot taller!

There was a pumpkin pyramid and these cute pumpkin queen and king signs.

After walking around, we got a wheelbarrow and picked out our pumpkin.

Our selfie.  The babies were good...as you can see they kind of slept through most of it.
It was a great way to begin the fall season.

September Wrap Up

Now for the random September pictures!

Here's my happy Noah grin!  And yes, the mess in the background is very typical.
Sofie enjoys her feedings.  I love her little hands up by her head.
Snuggling with my boys.  So crazy sometimes to realize I have two boys and two girls.
One Sunday I captured this sweet girl before we changed her clothes.  I love her in dresses.  This dress was a hand me down from her cousins Teaghan and Lynzi.  Thanks girls!
Look at her posing!
Isak was looking dapper as usual.  :)
I bought this kitty outfit for Sofie.  She is so snuggly cute!
Trying to get a pic with both of them smiling is tough.  But it's fun to try!
Success!!
Noah's bald head and camouflage reminds me of an army guy.
Trying out the bumbo chairs.
Isak had a scratch on his face and insisted on a bandaid and a picture.  haha.
Sleep eating.  She also likes to pull the hair on the back of her head.  My mom told me that my sister Jenny did that too!
Sofie is so unique and different from my other kids.  None of my other kids tried to climb out of the bouncy chair...but this girl does.  She also has had the most blow outs out of all four kids!!!  Seriously!  I have gone through a whole spray bottle of shout in less than a year to get the stains out of her clothes!
She keeps us on our toes.
Sometimes we don't make it up to the crib in time for naps and the babies fall asleep while playing.  :)

One day we explored Morgan Hill.  We found the library and then we went to a pop up park on Monterey Road downtown Morgan Hill.  It's a cute little "park."  They had a huge chalk wall.
A huge chair to climb on.

A piano to play and blocks to stack.
I love this pic!
We tried a new recipe from Our Best Bites.  It's called Lemon Zucchini Fettuccine.  I served it with a salad and green beans.  It was delicious!
Sofie playing with her zebra.
"Reading" in the bumbo chairs.
We went for a walk one night.  Kira looked so cute.  I love this jacket.
Kira likes to make the babies smile.  :)
I bought this outfit for Noah.  I like the camouflage  pants.
Sofie likes tummy time.  She is getting stronger and stronger.
I liked these navy and red outfits.

And Sofie's cheeks.  mmmmm.  so yummy! :)
One evening the kids raced inside and told me the sun was red.  I took a pic...it looks more pink, but it really did look red.
Kira was just walking around with a basket on her head.  Silly girl.
And sometimes she needs to relax in the bumbo chair.
Play time with dad.  I always just hope no one gets hurt...but it's usually Nels that ends up getting hurt.
Playing with her horse in the bumbo seat.
And Sofie sleeping in her big crib.  She loves to sleep on her tummy.  And since this month she started rolling over from her back to her tummy I transitioned her out of swaddles.  So she just sleeps with nothing and on her tummy.
No pictures of this...but I did get all unpacked.  I also started to exercise and got everyone into a routine.  A lot of transition for the babies this month.  We just worked on getting settled.
