October Wrap Up

Here's the wrap up for October!
We went to another subdivision party and got some pumpkins and caramel apples.  It was at the beginning of October.  My babies are still wearing summer clothes!  Love the weather here.
Oh Isak,  always causing mischief.
Dad and Kira relaxing together.
Isak doing a downward facing dog on my mat.  haha!  He does it better than me!
Helping with the laundry.
Eating with the bottle cleaner...whatever works.  Notice how big he is....his feet hang over the end of the bouncy seat.
Big difference from when he was first born.  Oh!!!!
Me and Kira.
We bought a bike trailer off of Craigslist.  While the weather was nice we went on a couple of bike rides.

We went to Red Robin to eat Nels's free birthday burger.  Look how cute my boys are!
Me and Nels at Red Robin.
That's all for October!

Happy Halloween!

Honestly, Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but we tried to have fun with it this year.  We bought the kids costumes at Costco.  We buy 90% of our stuff from that place!  So our first costume debut was the ward Trunk or Treat party.  Traffic was crazy and we were a half our late.  We barely got some soup. Then it was dark.  We just went around and said "hi" to all of the people with trunks and asked for no candy.  I didn't want to be tempted all week.  So here are a few pictures:
Nels went as "casual batman."  :)
I actually made a dessert...brownies with oreos and marshmallows on top.
Isak is a dinosaur or dragon...not sure.  and Kira is a mouse.
Our cute babies!
Our subdivision also had a Halloween shindig.  It was in the afternoon and fairly warm, so we walked to it.
Babies are ready to roll.  Kira always holds on to the cup holder.
Isak holds onto it sometimes.
My cute little mouse.
There was a petting zoo with llamas.  The kids just stared at those animals.  So funny.
Isak got tuckered out and took a short snooze in the stroller.
Then we came home and took these adorable pictures.
This is my absolute favorite picture!!!
Kira is really into clapping.  I love how she is on one knee.  Mmmm, she is soooo cute!!!  Of course, I am biased.
And they are on the move again.
Isak's face cracks me up in this one!!
Far Mor gave the kids some Halloween clothes.  Kira got this cute pumpkin dress.
And sweet Isak got this "Little Terror" shirt.  hahaha.
We did not get a lot of trick or treaters this year...probably because we turned the lights out at 7:30 p.m. so the kids could go to sleep without the doorbell waking them up.  Maybe next year we'll stay up later.

Happy Birthday to Nels!

Nels had a birthday, shout hooray!  Although we celebrate the whole month for his birthday...:) His actual birthday was a fun day.

I took pictures of the babies for his present from the babies.  I took a ton, but these are my favorites.  Yes, I know I have a lot of favorites. : )

Here's commentary for what the babies are thinking. heehee.
"Yes, Dad, turning another year old is serious business."
"Check out this sign.  It's on Paper.  We love paper."
Kira claps, Isak "holds" the sign.
I love Isak's smile here and how they are carefully holding the sign.
Kira, "Isak always steals my stuff"  Isak, "Yah! I don't have to share the sign!"
Isak smiling and Kira not so much.
Kira clapping and I don't know what Isak is trying to do.
Both smiling, Yah!
Isak clobbers Kira....poor girl.
We met Nels for lunch at Jim and Nick's BBQ.  They have the best cheddar cheese muffins.  I ate way too many.  For dinner, Nels asked for brauts and potato salad.  For dessert he didn't want a cake; instead, he asked for pretzel peanut butter chocolate chip cookies (pinterest).  We are happy Nels was born.  And now that I know what pregnancy is like and taking care of a baby....Thank you Nels's Mom and Dad!

Pudding!!!

In October we gave the babies pudding for the first time!!  It was hilarious, delicious and messy.
Isak dived into the pudding.
He thought it was awesome.
Kira ate a little and then she discovered....
finger painting with pudding is a lot more fun than eating it.
Non baby happenings lately....
I actually did a project!  I spray painted a frame and put metal in it for a magnet board.  Now all of our magnets are on display and not on the fridge.
I went to the temple in South Carolina while Nels kindly watched the babies.  It was so nice to be there.  We miss being 40 minutes or less from a temple...this one is 2 hours away.
I finally finished Monson's biography.  I loved it.  His story in Germany came in handy when Nels and I had to give a talk on faith in church.  I really enjoy reading biographies.

That's all I can think of for non baby items. :)

11 Months

11 Months old and counting.  Wow!  I am always amazed at how fast these months go by.  I totally understand this quote:  "The days are long, but the years are short." by Gretchen Rubin author of "The Happiness Project." Some days seem never ending, but then when I look back over the month or 6 months or a year...time seems to zoom by.  I'm so grateful for pictures and taking the time to write in my journal because these babies are growing up!

So here's what I wrote in my journal about the babies on October 11
Isak's big things are:
He stands without holding onto anything.  He can stand for a good 30 seconds before he gets bored.  He reaches his arms over his head.  He does downward facing dog.  So cute.
He opens cupboards and takes things out and climbs in.
He eats everything.  His favorites are cheese, bread and bananas.  Oh, he downed a fruit yogurt packet too.  I don't buy those very often though.  He pats his head when he's done eating resulting with food in his hair.  He eats about 28-32 oz of formula a day.
He takes two naps with bedtime at 7:30 p.m.  He wakes up between 6-7 pm.  He has 5 teeth and one more that's half done.
He loves bath time and grins and laughs when he hears the water running.  Still snuggly.  He is in 12 month clothes.  Such a big boy.
He's looking down at Kira in this picture.
He clicks his tongue and says syllables.  He loves to play "I'm going to get you Isak."  And crawls away or to be chased in our arms.
 Love this little boy face!
This was the best I could do with him laying down.  He's a fast mover.

Kira Daisy!  Getting taller!!!
Kira all of the sudden grew up.  She holds her bottle now.  Isak does too.  We made progress with food.  She will eat puffs and she puts them in her mouth.  She will eat bananas and bread.  She loves smoothies and apple blueberry baby food.  We tried many cans of baby food and that's the only one she will consistently eat.  It takes her 3 days to eat one jar.  Such a big improvement from last month.  She actually enjoys sitting in her high chair now.
She pulls herself up to the couch to stand.  She picks up food with the ring finger, pinky and thumb.
She LOVES books.  She'll sit and flip the pages for a long time and she'll sit and listen to us read to her.
She has figured out how to climb in and out of the bouncy seat and swing and is quite proud of herself.
  Kira loves to clap.
Kira loves her purple toys and likes to hold onto a toy at all times.  She laughs so hard with Nels.
Her cute little backside.
She gets up at 6 am on the dot no matter what.  Kira says syllabls and "ssssss"  She likes to hug more and cuddle more than before.
She is still our little angel and she loves to smile.
My two little babies are becoming two little toddlers.
We put them in the stroller without their car seats.  They LOVE to be outside.  They love going for walks and to the park or to just play in our backyard.
I like how Kira's hand is on Isak's shoulder.  They are brother and sister.  Sometimes I call Kira Sister and Isak Brother.
 Love Isak's big old smile/laugh.
 Their cute backsides.
I don't know what I did to make them both smile and look at me at the same time!  Kira is even clapping she's so excited.  haha.  Love these babies!
