Pudding!!!

In October we gave the babies pudding for the first time!!  It was hilarious, delicious and messy.
Isak dived into the pudding.
He thought it was awesome.
Kira ate a little and then she discovered....
finger painting with pudding is a lot more fun than eating it.
Non baby happenings lately....
I actually did a project!  I spray painted a frame and put metal in it for a magnet board.  Now all of our magnets are on display and not on the fridge.
I went to the temple in South Carolina while Nels kindly watched the babies.  It was so nice to be there.  We miss being 40 minutes or less from a temple...this one is 2 hours away.
I finally finished Monson's biography.  I loved it.  His story in Germany came in handy when Nels and I had to give a talk on faith in church.  I really enjoy reading biographies.

That's all I can think of for non baby items. :)

11 Months

11 Months old and counting.  Wow!  I am always amazed at how fast these months go by.  I totally understand this quote:  "The days are long, but the years are short." by Gretchen Rubin author of "The Happiness Project." Some days seem never ending, but then when I look back over the month or 6 months or a year...time seems to zoom by.  I'm so grateful for pictures and taking the time to write in my journal because these babies are growing up!

So here's what I wrote in my journal about the babies on October 11
Isak's big things are:
He stands without holding onto anything.  He can stand for a good 30 seconds before he gets bored.  He reaches his arms over his head.  He does downward facing dog.  So cute.
He opens cupboards and takes things out and climbs in.
He eats everything.  His favorites are cheese, bread and bananas.  Oh, he downed a fruit yogurt packet too.  I don't buy those very often though.  He pats his head when he's done eating resulting with food in his hair.  He eats about 28-32 oz of formula a day.
He takes two naps with bedtime at 7:30 p.m.  He wakes up between 6-7 pm.  He has 5 teeth and one more that's half done.
He loves bath time and grins and laughs when he hears the water running.  Still snuggly.  He is in 12 month clothes.  Such a big boy.
He's looking down at Kira in this picture.
He clicks his tongue and says syllables.  He loves to play "I'm going to get you Isak."  And crawls away or to be chased in our arms.
 Love this little boy face!
This was the best I could do with him laying down.  He's a fast mover.

Kira Daisy!  Getting taller!!!
Kira all of the sudden grew up.  She holds her bottle now.  Isak does too.  We made progress with food.  She will eat puffs and she puts them in her mouth.  She will eat bananas and bread.  She loves smoothies and apple blueberry baby food.  We tried many cans of baby food and that's the only one she will consistently eat.  It takes her 3 days to eat one jar.  Such a big improvement from last month.  She actually enjoys sitting in her high chair now.
She pulls herself up to the couch to stand.  She picks up food with the ring finger, pinky and thumb.
She LOVES books.  She'll sit and flip the pages for a long time and she'll sit and listen to us read to her.
She has figured out how to climb in and out of the bouncy seat and swing and is quite proud of herself.
  Kira loves to clap.
Kira loves her purple toys and likes to hold onto a toy at all times.  She laughs so hard with Nels.
Her cute little backside.
She gets up at 6 am on the dot no matter what.  Kira says syllabls and "ssssss"  She likes to hug more and cuddle more than before.
She is still our little angel and she loves to smile.
My two little babies are becoming two little toddlers.
We put them in the stroller without their car seats.  They LOVE to be outside.  They love going for walks and to the park or to just play in our backyard.
I like how Kira's hand is on Isak's shoulder.  They are brother and sister.  Sometimes I call Kira Sister and Isak Brother.
 Love Isak's big old smile/laugh.
 Their cute backsides.
I don't know what I did to make them both smile and look at me at the same time!  Kira is even clapping she's so excited.  haha.  Love these babies!

September Wrap Up

Pictures taken mostly in September. :)
Pigtails!!!
Fohawk. hehee.
Oh baby boy.  His hair looks so red when he wears orange.
This toy has saved my life several times...or maybe just my sanity. :)  They love to play with it.  Kira can be pretty serious when she plays.
Our friends Shane and Ericka were in Charlotte and came to visit us!!  It was so good to see them.  They even brought yummy lasagna.  So now that we have kids what did we do for entertainment.  Play with the babies and their toys of course.  Shane rocked the building blocks with this tower.  haha!  They are awesome friends.
Kira is becoming a lot more adventuresome like her brother.  One morning after I changed her diaper I turned around and found her in the diaper box!  She was so proud of herself and she thought it was pretty funny.
She's pulling herself up to furniture really well.
Isak loves this swing.
He gets a big old grin when he climbs in and he pumps himself to keep the swing going.
Enjoying this perfect temperature fall weather.
Cutie pie.
Kira and her books.  She just loves them!  I love the pants with the tutu too.
Nels bought an ipad mini so now we can facetime when he travels.  I think I caught him in the middle of saying something.  You can see Kira just watching him.  The kids love to see their dad and hear his voice.  But they miss hugging and climbing on him.
Kira just looked cute in this outfit so I had to take a picture.
Ok, so there is a lot of pictures of Kira this time around.
She loves the snot sniffer.  One day she found both of them and played with them forever!
Reading her book again.
Kira figured out how to get into the swing too.  She loves it.
Kira outside with her purple shovel.
The jar she is holding is the first jar of baby food she ate by herself.  It took three days...but it's progress!!!
Isak feeding himself.  I usually put him in the bouncy seat so he can lean back.  But he sometimes gets to the bottle before I can put him in his seat.  So cute.
Isak was the first to discover the cupboards open.  My little explorer.
That's all.  On to October and guess what?  It's actually still October for a few more days!

A Date?!

Nels planned a date!  We took the kids with us and had a blast.
We went to the US National Whitewater Center.  After paying $5 to park, we walked around the park for free.  There is a lot to do and I won't be surprised if we end up getting memberships one of these years.

They have rock climbing, zip lining and rope courses, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, rafting and more!
You can't really see the babies, but they had a great time. :)
Here's some rafters.
Doesn't it look fun?
Afterwards we ate some delicious bbq at Mac Bros. Speed Shop.
We even got the jalepeno fried pickle appetizer.  They were spicy good.
We ate outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  Plus the babies could play a little while we ate.
Nels's Dino face.  They had lots of different sauces to try.

Isak didn't stay in his car seat for long.  He went exploring.
Nothing like a good old pulled pork sandwich.
It was a fun date, beautiful weather and yummy food.  What else could we ask for?
