All About Isak

Here's some pictures of Isak from June and the beginning of July.
Isak is the explorer.  He loves to discover everything.  Like this diaper box.  He inspected this box inside and out.  His dad was proud because International Paper makes the Huggies boxes.
Isak was quite entertained when the movers arrived.  More boxes!
One day Isak discovered the door stop and the awesome noise it makes.
I actually paint my fingernails now...haha.  I tried this purple and loved it.  The kids thought it was cool too.
When one of the babies wake up early, they get to spend some time in our bed while we wait for the other one to wake up.  I took this picture of Isak while he "patiently" waited for his sister to wake up.
We have hardwood floors in our new house.  Isak was trying them out the first day we arrived by doing man push ups and trying to crawl.
Getting ready to move.
Happy boy!
With the move and babies under foot, the pack and play came in handy.  Isak got to spend some quality time in it. :)
Indiana Jones conquering the beach chair and bouncy chair.
Our first time to go to the pool we pulled out the Little Swimmer diapers.  Isak was being a pill and wouldn't cooperate with Nels.  So Nels put the diaper on his head instead.
Love this cute, innocent face.
Isak loves to sit under the chair and table.
Isak isn't always happy.  Sometimes he gets pretty mad...but he still looks cute!  By the way his onesie says "Just Like Daddy."  :)
I captured this moment on our video monitor.  Oh, melt my heart.
We love you Isak, our adventurous explorer and snuggle bug.

Tom's BBQ and Graceland

Our last weekend in Memphis we decided to be tourists.  Our first stop was for lunch at Tom's BBQ.  For two years Nels and I drove by this restaurant on our way to work, but we never stopped to eat there.  I am so glad we did!  They have delicious bbq.
It started out a little rough for Kira.  I opened the van door and this is what I saw.
She fell asleep, but she didn't really have a choice. Poor girl.
When we got inside the staff loved seeing our twins.  In fact they they loved our twins so much they gave us lunch on the house!  Nothing beats a free lunch.  :)
 Nels's dinosaur face.
I have to take two pictures because he loves to do the dinosaur face, but then he wants a normal one too.  Makes me smile.
Me and the food...the potato salad was good and so was the pork sandwich.  Although, Corky's is still my favorite bbq sauce.

Isak and Kira just chilled on the floor by us while we ate our food.
Tom's BBQ was featured on the TV show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
It's not much to look at, which is probably why we didn't try it earlier.  But like they say, "Looks can be deceiving."
After lunch we headed to Graceland, Elvis Presley's home.
Isak slept through the first hour we were there.
Kira smiled at everyone and played with her toys.
We got headphones to listen to the audio tour.  I really like audio tours because you can turn it up as loud as you need to and pause and rewind when you miss something.
Elvis has a very unique taste.  He loved blue and purple, suede and leather.  This is the front room.
I tried to get a picture of us in the mirror, but my hand was shaky so it's totally blurry.
The house had at least 4 staircases in random locations.  The TV room had 3 tube TV's in a row and mirrored walls and ceilings.  The ceilings always had some type of decor.

Elvis received so many awards and honors.

Elvis Presley, his twin brother (died in infancy), his mother and father are all buried on the property.

 Us....cheese.
We toured the two planes.  The Lisa Marie plane had green suede seats and a purple bed.
The babies didn't go on the plane.  We took turns wheeling them around..
Of course, Nels's favorite part was the car museum.  He spent Forever in there!  :)  He read everything and took a picture of the signs and the cars.  Sadly, the lighting was dark and the pictures didn't turn out.  Here's the best one...the Pink Cadillac.

We went through the costume museum too.  Wow, very intricate costumes.
On the audio tour one of the things I learned about Elvis was that he loved to give.  He would buy people cars, pay their debts, give to charities and just help people out.  He was down to earth and genuinely loved people.  He loved music and entertaining people.  Go Elvis!  :)
We ate some Blue Bell ice cream and talked a lot.  It was a great day.  We signed our names on the bridge and said farewell to Memphis.
