April 11 - 30: Bike Ride and Frozen Yogurt and More Moments

April 11, 2026 - Saturday Adventure:

Isak, Nels and I played some pickleball in the morning.  Then we went on a lovely family bike ride to Barfield Park.
I'm so glad we all have bikes, and now Noah keeps up with everyone, so it's just fun!
Pretty Kira:
One of the kids took our picture.  :)
We rode our bikes to Barfield Park.  Then we tried to play Capture the Flag.  Girls vs. Boys.  Here's the Tough boys.
Here's us girls...
The girls didn't last long...they wanted to eat a snack and swing instead.  So then it was me and Noah vs. Nels and Isak.

Pictures of the girls swinging and playing on the monkey bars.

Then we rode our bikes home.  Just a nice bike ride and time at the park.
Then we went to RaceTrac and had frozen yogurt.  It was so fun to try the samples.  The kids loved filling up their cup with different flavors and toppings.  So fun!

We ate outside together and just talked.  It was nice.
Then some of the family ate lunch from Costco.
The rest had lunch at home.  That was our Saturday Adventure!

I prepared and gave the lesson for Relief Society.  It was on Elder Gong's talk "No One Sits Alone."  He talked about fortune cookies -- So Kira helped me fold some origami fortune cookies.  Inside the paper cookies were the questions for the class to discuss.   I think it's cool how the fortune cookies also look like a heart.  I also bought thirty fortune cookies from Panda Express and gave them out.  Overall, I think the lesson went well.  I'm so glad it's over!
I bought a new dress from Amazon.  I love the white and blue color.  I also bought the sandals from Amazon.  Just nice and simple.
Sofie and I finished this puzzle for a second time.  :)
I made M&M cookies.  My mom sent me an Easter Card.  💜
Pretty Kira with the cookie.
Here's Sofie playing the piano.  She's on the Donkey song.
Hanging out with Isak during Kira's piano lesson.
I took this picture after I dropped Isak off for Choir and while I was waiting for the concert to start.  Pretty trees.
Isak had his Choir concert on April 14.  The theme was colors.

It was a mix of solos and the 6, 7 & 8th grade choirs.  Isak's class sang, "I See Colors", "Dies Irae" , "Rainbow" and "Big Yellow Taxi."
Isak's name is under the Baritones section.
I circled Isak's head.  :)
Last concert of the year.  It's fun to watch Isak sing.  He really enjoys it and the choir concert is always great.
I made it to the temple.  A kind of funny thing happened.  Last time I went at the end of March, I was sick and I was blessed with no coughing.  This time I was healthy, but my throat suddenly went super dry.  I coughed and coughed.  So embarrassing!  Thankfully, someone had a cough drop and that helped.  :)
Nels had the day off April 17, Friday.
We had a great day.  We played pickleball together with some friends at Patterson Park.  Then Nels and I had a lunch date at Jack's Burger's downtown Murfreesboro.
It had a cool vibe.

The burgers were amazing.  Wagyu beef.  I had mushroom and bacon on my burger.  Our fries were loaded.  Mmmm.

We also tried deep fried Oreos.  These were delicious also!
Not the best picture of me...oh well.  Focus on the Oreo cookie.
They had a most eaten burgers in one sitting and Oreos in one sitting.  for burgers, it was 17!  For the Oreo it was 101!  We had a nice date.  :)

April 18, Saturday:
Kira performed a duet with her friend Penny for a judge.
They did well and received Superior ratings.

Sofie (purple one) and Noah (green one) created and colored these pictures.
April 19 - Sunday.
In the Old Testament this week, we learned about daily manna that came everyday.  Silly me, I decided it would be fun to make bread with the kids. :)
They all helped do a part of it.  We watched three videos from Come Follow Me about daily bread.  We talked about how we need to connect with Jesus everyday.

Then we ate the bread together.  Mmmmm.

Our Stake redid the boundaries again.  We got moved to a Branch and to a different church building 25 minutes south of us.  And we go to church from 2-4 p.m.  So here we are on the first Sunday in our new building and Branch.

Overall, I think it will be a good experience for our family.

Kira's cute room.
Here's Sofie Panda talking with me on FaceTime:
Dance class with Sofie.
Pretty Kira ready for school.

Sofie and Noah finished TCAP testing.  We hope they did well.  Their teacher made it so special with treats and coloring sheets everyday.  Nels and I wrote encouraging notes for them for every day of testing too.  Here's Sofie's pictures and notes.
New recipe:  Chocolate oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips.  Isak loved them!  They were delicious.  Recipe from Mel's Kitchen.
Trying to take a photo of Sofie's cute outfit.  Noah wanted to hop in.  Haha.
She's adorable!!
April 24th, Friday -
We ate dinner at Red Robin.  Yum!

We tried a new hairstyle on Kira.  I like it!
Isak set up a Mario Kart Tournament!  He did a great job.
He had brackets and courses picked out for everyone to do.  It was lots of fun.  Isak won!  Then Noah 2nd, Kira 3rd, me 4th, Nels 5th and Sofie 6th.
Sunday Best photo:
Book club with my sisters and mom.  So enjoyable to see and catch up with everyone.  :)
I enjoy listening to Follow Him podcast.  One week Sister Dalton was on the show and she talked about having Holy Habits and Righteous Routines.  I talked with the kids about it and invited them to practice reading scriptures daily.  I shared my testimony of how reading the scriptures daily has helped me throughout my life and how I know it would help them too.

I was so grateful and happily surprised when Noah and Sofie both tried really hard to read their scriptures daily.  A few days, Noah read his scriptures before school.  Later, he told me how he felt the Holy Ghost through the day more and felt happier.  I loved that so much.  I'm so grateful he's trying and I hope it helps his testimony of Jesus and the gospel grow stronger.
My beautiful roses with raindrops on them.
Sofie and Noah's class.
April 29, Wednesday -
Noah had a follow up eye exam.  His eye has improved a little more.  Yay!  They said to keep on patching.  Noah does pretty well with patching two hours a few days a week.  We'll just keep doing it until there's no more improvement.  Noah brought his monkey to the appointment.  :)
We stopped at Donut Country on the way home.  Yum!  They had a lemon flavor donut that we tried this time and a huge cinnamon roll with maple frosting.

Sofie tried out her roller skates outside.  It's hard to skate outside.  She didn't do it for long.  It's more fun at the skating rink!  But she sure looked cute!

That's the end of April!
I worked the whole month!  2-3 times a week for 4 hours.  I really enjoy working at Apex Pickleball.
I got called as 1st counsellor in the Primary Presidency for the new Branch.  Happy to serve in primary.
The kids continue to progress in school and doing all of their activities.  I love watching them learn and grow!
Nels still loves his job with Gibson Guitars and is enduring the commute pretty well, most days.  :)
That's all!

April 3 - 10: Easter!

Moments from April 3 - 10:

Friday, April 3:
Nels, Isak and I played some pickleball at Patterson.  It was a lot of fun games.   I snuck a picture of Isak.
Noah drew some more pictures:  his hand and a self portrait.
Sofie got a hair cut.  Before:
Just a few inches.  After:
I prepped for Easter.  I filled a 100+ eggs with candy.  Then Nels and I hid the eggs.  This year, we all wrote down our testimonies of Jesus on strips of paper and I put them in the eggs too.

The gifts/candy this year included Angel for Sofie, Stitch for Noah, a duck stuffy for Kira and Reese's candy for Isak.  We also had some peeps and Albanese gummies.
Nels and I actually woke up before the kids.  So Nels pretended to be the Easter bunny to wake up the kids.  Here's Sofie catching him at the door.  :)
Easter photo with the kids.  Notice Isak is wearing shoes?  He said it was so he could run faster for the egg hunt. :)
They raced around the house to get the eggs.  I love this part.  Haha.
They each ended up with about the same.  They end up trading each other for the candy they want anyways.

Isak probably ended up with the most though.

They opened the eggs and we found our testimonies.  We took turns reading them and glueing them on the paper.  I liked this activity.  I thought it worked out great and reminded us of why we are celebrating.
Then we made our traditional Resurrection Rolls.

General Conference weekend which was very nice.  Bingo with cereal was a hit again.  I even did it with Noah for a little while.
Isak worked on the Titanic and finished it.  Yay!
Since it was Easter too and we made the Resurrection rolls, I didn't want to make cinnamon rolls too.  So I cheated and got the Rhode's frozen cinnamon rolls.  They worked, but everyone mentioned they like mine better.  That made me feel good.  :)

And that's the end of Easter and General Conference weekend.  Oh, leading up to Easter, we read scriptures and watched videos about the events leading up to Jesus's death and resurrection.  It was a good way to stay focused on the reason for the season.

Sofie and Noah love their Stitch and Angel.
Other April moments:
Sofie's teacher sent this photo to me.  It's Sofie reading a book to the class while they wait for dismissal.
Coloring of this photo is weird...
So we went outside.  Sofie looked so cute!
After the kids come home from school, I try to take a few minutes to listen to how their day went.  Kira looked so cute, I had to take a picture with her.
Another cute picture of Kira:

Cute Sofie in her adorable purple jumper.
Another puzzle we're working on.  Actually, Nels is doing 90% of it.
Another cute outfit for Sofie:

And that's all of our moments April 3-10, 2026.
