August 1 - 18, 2024 - First Day of School and More

August 1 - 18, 2024 -  Moments

We finished up swim lessons.  I fixed the girls hair and thought they looked pretty cute!

Boys are cute too.
Pickleball-
Kira, Sofie and Noah are so sweet.  We pack food and things to for them to do and they let me, Nels and Isak play pickleball.
You can see the pickleball courts in the background.  They love the tire swing.
Isak is getting the hang of pickleball and it's so fun to play with him.  Check out his pro pickleball shirt too!
On our way to swim lessons...
Just hanging out at the pool.

Here's Noah with his new goggles.  So happy with them!
Here's big brother giving little brother some tips.
Kira flies off the slide.  :)
Their reward for finishing two weeks of swim lessons were slushies from Sonic.
Here's another time of Sofie and Noah eating and playing while we played pickleball.
I crocheted these hearts for my primary class.  I think they liked them.  They were fun to make too.
Handsome Noah at church.
Haha.  Nels relaxing in our pool.
Then we went to a real pool...

The kids had a blast and loved showing me all of their tricks.  I even went down both slides this time and tried the rock wall with Isak.  It was a fun time!
Back to school night!  Here we go...

Fist Day of School!  Ready to go!!!
Kira's bus never came.  So Nels took her to school.   I took Sofie, Noah and Isak to school.  Sofie and Noah rode the bus home and I picked up Isak from school.  First day was actually a half day.  So Isak and Kira went 8 - 10 a.m. Sofie and Noah went from 7:30 - 11 a.m.

Ms. Armiger sent these pictures.

I had frosted sugar cookies the Friday of the first week.  Yay!
August  10 - Saturday
We went to Isak's school's annual Tiger Hunt back to school event.  The kids loved playing on the three big bounce toys.

And we ate some snacks.

Fun kiddos.
For a primary lesson on faith, I had given the kids a bean seed and we had planted it in a wet cotton ball.  Mine actually grew!  I was pretty happy about it.  I hope the primary kids' grew too.
We started piano lessons again.  Miss Hill is so good!

Here's a picture of Kira's composition that she played on the piano and then an AI app created the sheet music!  Pretty cool!
I went to the temple.
We found a caterpillar.  We put it in a jar with leaves and grass and sticks and named him Captain.
He only lived a day or two.  :(
Bike ride with Sofie and Noah.  They are fun kids to be with.

School pictures:
They were building a tower out of newspaper, I think:

Nels and Derek playing the guitar.
Camaraderie Day at Salem.  So they were dressed in green.
Sofie was sad about something...
So Noah tried to cheer her up.

It worked...
Sofie did her kiwi.co crate.  It was a chemistry one and she loved it!

While Kira and Sofie worked on the chemistry experiments, Noah and I made snicker doodles.
Kira had wanted them.  I think this was my first time making them.  They turned out pretty good!
Another chemistry experiment with Sofie...bubbles.

Isak had to finish a book in a week.  So he worked hard on that.  He even ate while he read!

Sunday photos:

They all had their blankets and stuffed animals.  They were so cute playing together, so we took a picture.

That's all for August 1 - 18.  Just trying to figure out school and new routines.
