May Moments 2024

Moments in May --
 Cute kids ready for school...

Here's Noah learning to do the scooter and other kids on bikes.
Bubbles and playing in the front yard.
Bubble bath for Sofie and Noah...they wore their swimsuits.
I made my neighbor muffins.  She had stopped by with our mail that accidentally went to them, and for some reason I did not recognize her!  So I asked her where she lived.  She gave me a weird look and said "Next door."  Oh my!  I was so embarrassed.  So I made her muffins and gave her an apology card.
Sofie tried out for the school talent show with her friend Brooklynn.  They wore these matching outfits.  They danced to the song "The Middle."
Isak tried out too.  He sang "A Million Dreams."  Sadly, neither of them made it to the talent show.  But I was so proud of them for trying out!!
School pics from their teachers.  Here's Kira.
She was the top Dojo earner for March and April.
Teacher appreciation week.  We gave cookies again this year.
Kira's middle school had an open house.  I got to go with her.
She's just growing up!
I snuck in a temple trip before the kids got out of school.
Our roses started to bloom.

I snipped some off and LOVED having them on my kitchen counter.  I used old spice jars.
Noah loves his snap circuit kit.
We found an app that listens to the piano and composes the music.  So Kira recorded one of her songs she made up and then the app put the notes together!  It was so cool and amazing.  Her first composition.
Kira got the 5280 Feet award at school.
Side walk chalk fun.
The girls made a giant hopscotch...324!
Mother's Day!  We had Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner.  It was the day after Sofie and Noah's birthday.  So we kept it simple.  I loved all of my cards and notes.

Here's Sofie's self portrait.  I couldn't help myself.  I laughed.  Sofie has such a good nature.  She laughed too and said, "yep, my eyes are a little cross eyed."  💜
Isak and I did a book club together.  We both read the first book in the 39 Clue series.  It was a great book and it was fun to do with Isak.  We got a cookie from Crumble for our treat.
We also went to McAlister's open chess night.  Isak had fun playing with some kids.
One Saturday morning, Nels realized it was the garage sale day.  I didn't want to do anything.  But the kids did.  So Nels helped the kids set up their stuff and they actually sold quite a bit!  $40 or so!
Field Day at Salem Elementary!  Here's Kira's class.
There's Kira...
Kira...
Sofie and Noah.
Another day was pajama, movie day.  Isak is on the left side of the pic.
Sofie's class... She's sitting on the bottom left.
Noah with the boys in his class.
Water fight with the neighbor kids...
I finished the Lift4 program by Bodi.  I really loved lifting weights and getting stronger.  I'll probably do it again in the fall.
I played some pickleball while the kids were in school.  The ball whacked my hand and I got some pretty bruises.
All pink...shirt, chair, paddle.  :)
Sofie went to her friend Brooklynn's birthday party.  Her mom sent some pictures.
Sofie loves the spa headband!
Spa day with Kira and Sofie.
Watermelon!
We went to the pool.  So many cicadas.  But we still had fun.

Noah even went on the slide with the splash pad.

Cicadas!

I sat for less than five minutes.  But still.  I like my nail polish on my toes.  :)

On Memorial Day, we went on a long bike ride on the greenway trails.
We started at Old Fort Park.  Then we rode for a while and then we stopped at General Bragg park along the trail.

Nels is the alligator?  Haha!
Then we rode for a while.  We turned around at Thompson Station and rode back to Old Fort Park.

We played for a while at Old Fort Park.

After playing, we went to Sonic and got slushes.  Nels and I shared an orange slush with vanilla ice cream!
I took the kids to the library for the summer kickoff event.

They got popcorn and other treats and signed up for the summer reading program.

That's Kira's scared face.  Because of the wild animals.  :)

I made fruit salsa.  I love it so much.  I make it with cinnamon tortilla chips too.
Nels had the kids clean the van to prepare for our trip out west.

And that was May!
Birthdays, Mother's Day, End of School.  Bike rides and pool.
