Snow Outing #3

We explored a new place called Johnson's Mound.  I loved watching the kids explore in the woods and walk in the snow.  I'm glad we all have snow clothes so we can enjoy outings in winter!

Here's our group of explorers.
I'm last and walk with whoever's at the end.  This time it was Sofie.
She found a stick that she carried with her the rest of the time.  She used it to scoop snow and eat it.  :)
Cute Kira.

Pretty sky and trees.  Winter can be beautiful.
Tree Tunnel!!

Fun to go under the tunnel and climb on top of it.

Noah was the last one this time...so he got some extra photos.

We found this cool branch house...
Two sisters on a log.

It's always good for our family to get out of the house and see a new place.  It's exciting and helps us connect.  I'm grateful we got out to be in the woods in the winter time.

Snow Much Fun!!! Outing #1 and 2

We've enjoyed the snow this year.  We had tons of snow to play in and the kids loved it.

Outing #1 was in our backyard.
Snow angels...

I love the snow on the branches of the trees and Kira looks so cute in her new snow outfit.
Noah has tried to enjoy the snow more this year.  He'll stay out for about 5-10 minutes.  :)

Outing #2 was sledding!!
We warmed up on a small hill at the elementary school.  Even Noah went down the hill with Nels.

Kira and Isak were pros.

Then we went to the Fabyan Windmill for a bigger sledding experience.  It's a pretty place next to the Fox River.

Pretty winter wonderland.
Portrait of Isak.
And then up the hill for some fun sledding.
Noah only went down once.  Then he just played with the sled.
Isak and Kira went up and down several times by themselves.  Isak had a couple friends that were there too.  So it was fun to watch him interact with them.  Poor Kira was doing great until a dog chased after her!  That's when she cried and cried and wanted to go home.   I went with Sofie and so did Nels.  She went one time by herself.  She didn't like getting snow in her face though.
We took a walk across the bridges too and under the "garden tunnels."

Sofie was cold and done at this point...
They were all good sports for the outing though.
Here's the snowy bridge.
Snowy path.

I used preset lighting tools for these next two photos...

Oh, before we got to the windmill, we missed the turn.  While we were doing a u-turn we got stuck in the snow!  A  nice man pulled over and helped Nels push us out.  Yay!
And that's all.
