Little Moments - October

Here we go for moments in October.

The kids watched some videos with domino designs...so they decided to make their own.
Sofie LOVES to pray.  She always wants to be the one to say the prayer and gets pretty upset when it's someone else's turn.  I think this is a sweet picture of my girls blessing the food.
Kira liked her hair and asked me to take a picture...ballerina bun.
Mrs. Beckman is their 1st grade teacher and she did a super fun thing...GLOW games.
How fun and memorable is that?!
Sofie and Noah did a walk-a-thon at school.  Here's Sofie's class.  Sofie is sitting on the floor with purple shoes.
And here she is walking in her big green t-shirt.
Maybe you can zoom in on this picture.  Can you find Noah...?  He is the smallest little boy and he did not want to wear the headband so it's tied around his arm.  He doesn't look thrilled to be there.
Sofie at school...

The big kids had a book fair at their school and they insisted on buying some books with their own money.  It was so cute watching them carefully select the books they wanted and then paying for them.
Kira bought unicorn and little pony books.  Isak got Star Wars.
I ate at Panera and ordered their broccoli cheddar soup with roast beef sandwich.  I loved it so much I decided to make a copycat.  MMMmmm.  Good!
My sweet neighbor Lindsay agreed to help me learn how to make homemade cinnamon rolls.  Oh my.  They were heavenly.
Isak and Sofie got to lick the frosting beaters.

And Sofie enjoyed the whole cinnamon roll.  That whole pan was quickly eaten up!
I think this was my last bike ride before the weather turned way to cold for me to bike anymore.  I biked over by the neighborhood golf course.  Beautiful.
School pictures!!  Here's my handsome Isak!
And adorable Kira.
Girl time!  Painting finger and toe nails and singing "Let it go" at the top of our lungs.  😀
General Conference was the first Saturday in October.  In primary, I gave the kids general conference activity packets.  So the kids worked on those while they watched.  And we always get a fun cereal to eat too.
And lots of snuggling time...
Nels was trying to put this puzzle together while he listened.  He ended up with a few helpers.
I'm not sure if he even got to put a piece in.  Haha.  He's a good sport.
Sofie and I colored this together.  Good family time and we were able to listen to a few talks.  👍
Sofie has been obsessed with Anna and Elsa.  She fed them her pancakes.  haha.
We taught the kids the armor of God lesson in the Come Follow Me book.  Isak helped me find items to make up the armor.  We took turns dressing up in the armor and saying what each piece was and what it means.

Noah did not want to put it on...But Nels did.  haha.
Reading time...with a blanket and pillow.  What could be better?!

We got these fun "find it" books at the library.  Isak and Noah looked together.
Kira and Sofie looked together.
My little unicorns!  Kira is holding the book and bookmark she bought at the book fair.

Sofie loved practicing drawing straight lines with a pen and ruler.
Kira came and snuggled with me during nap time.  Of course, I couldn't sleep anymore...so I'm pretending.  But I loved how her little arm rested on my shoulder and she was just so sweet.
Getting ready for family picture day!  Ah!  I asked a friend to take our pictures.  We knew the weather was going to get cold so it was a quick thing.  I only had a day to shop for clothes.  Kind of stressful because I am NOT a shopper!!  But thankfully, I found all of these cute coordinating clothes at Old Navy.  I was thrilled!
Here I am, all ready and stressed out for family photos...Another post will be of the final product.  :)
Noah and I colored this dump truck and when we were done, he taped it onto his toy dump truck and proudly said, "match!"
Kira's note to Noah...
We had the missionaries over for dinner.  Kira was so excited.  She even made them a special card.

My laundry helper...she likes to make a "bed" in the laundry.  Then she hands me (or rather throws) the clothes to fold.
Doctors in training.
Puzzle time with Sofie and Noah!
And flashback to October 2015...with Isak and Kira just before they turned 3.  Puzzles are so much fun!
I captured this one...Isak and Kira reading the New Testament stories together.  💕
This was after the Ward Halloween Party.  I was exhausted.  This is what down time at the Nyborg house looks like...books, blankets and snuggling.
I was writing in my journal too.
Nels was asleep on the couch and one of the kids kindly put a blanket on him.  :)
haha.  Nels sent this to my phone when I asked how he was doing...

Noah saw the picture and was super worried.  I told him daddy was just making a funny face and that he is ok.  So we tried to send daddy a funny face back...
This is Noah's favorite...a bowl of cereal and a show to watch.
NELS'S BIRTHDAY!!!
We had so much fun celebrating him.  He took the day off.  While the kids were in school, we went to breakfast at Buttermilk. It was wonderful!
So much food and we ate it all.
He got a guitar stool for his gift.
When Sofie and Noah came home we went shopping at the outlets.  We bought Nels three pair of shoes.  Then we came home in time to get the big kids from school.

I made chicken enchiladas for dinner and brownies and ice cream for his birthday treat.  The kids loved blowing out the candles with him.  It was just a nice day!
More Sofie school pictures.  They do a variety of things at her school.  This is a cooking learning session.

Dinner...The kids actually like sweet potatoes!  And most of them like meatloaf.  I took a picture, because this healthy dinner does not happen every day and I was proud of myself.
Dress up!  Sofie put this dress on and then sat on her bed.  I asked her what she was doing, "I'm waiting for my prince."  haha.  Noah put out fires all over the house.
Red Robin for Nels's birthday burger.  Yum!
Another Sofie school pic.
Our sister missionaries are so sweet.  They gave our kids each a small gift...Sofie got rings.
Just remembering this moment.  Two three year olds making their way down the stairs.
And another time, I caught them snuggling together.  💕
And that is October!!!
