May 2018 Wrap Up

May 2018 Wrap Up.

All of our odds and ends for the month.  We didn't have a big outing in May.  Just tried to keep moving forward and enjoy each other.

This actually happened in April, but it was on Nels's iPhone so I missed it...We went to Steak and Shake and got dinner and shakes.  They give these hats to the kids...and Nels.  :)
Kira still loves her horsey.
She also likes to stir her ice cream to make "soup."
Puzzle babies.  Sofie and Noah are becoming puzzle experts just like Isak and Kira.
Sometimes they work together and sometimes they each do their own.  It occupies them so I don't mind picking up the pieces after they have moved on to something else.
Sofie loves to "read," especially a big kid book.
Kira's artwork.
A family event...watching dad mow the lawn.
Do you see Nels?
We went to Peck Farm Park for a bit.  There's an old home with a large front porch and rocking chairs.  So I took a few pics.

The babies love to be outside.  Sometimes they get out there before I even have time to get them dressed.

"Let's ride!"
Preparing for kindergarten with eye exams.   I think it's funny how Isak sits compared to Kira.
They both passed... no glasses a little far sighted.  And the Dr. called Kira's half colored eye a birthmark.
Bubbles...
She likes to sit on the swing like a big kid.
Just a pretty Kira girl.
Getting stronger by climbing up the ladder.
All of my kids love to just eat a spoonful of peanut butter.
Kira's artwork...a gift for Mother's day.
Isak made this and proudly showed it to me saying, "it's chewbacca!"

I made it to the temple in May.  I even timed it just right to meet my friend Cami there.  She lives in Wisconsin and so Chicago is her temple too.  I was so happy to see her and then eat lunch and catch up with her too!
The pink blossoms were in bloom.
Sofie with her underpants.  haha.  Just cracks me up!
Popsicle night.
I got out with all four kids and we went on a long walk on the trails near our home.
I just love watching them out in nature and how they interact with each other.

Noah with his sunglasses and determination.  Melts my heart!!
They didn't last long at the park and happily left to come home and eat lunch.
Pretty flowers in front of our house.  It's been fun to see what flowers pop up.  I try to keep up with the weeding, but there's quite a bit!
I got out again by myself with the four kids!  We went to the library.  It went pretty well.  Thankfully, the babies have decided they don't want to hide from me but want me in eyesight at all times.

Noah didn't want to be in the pic...
So I tried to take one with all of us.  You can kind of see his head.  :)
Other stuff:

  • I tried my first online grocery order.  It worked pretty well.  I've done it a few more times.  I keep forgetting things and end up in the store anyway...and I like to pick out my produce.  So sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't.
  • Isak gives me random hugs throughout the day.  I love that.
  • Kira says, "I love you little mama."  That makes me smile and helps me to be more patient.
  • Noah says, "ma ma ma" but only when he is upset or wants something...
  • Sofie loves to sit on my lap whenever I am sitting.  She's my sitting pal.
  • I read the book Wonder.
  • Sofie did the following in an hour one day...took clothes out of dresser, unrolled toilet paper in bathroom, got desitin out of ziplock bag and had it all over her hands, dumped a cup of milk all over herself and floor.  One mess after another.  She also asked for 3-4 different shoes to be put on during the day.  She is Busy and it kept me busy too!
  • Another outing I did all by myself...all four kids had check up appts.  Of course, it was pouring down rain!  So Isak and Kira huddled under one umbrella and I had another umbrella over me and the stroller.  We still got pretty wet.  But we did it!  All four are pretty healthy.  Isak weighs almost 40 lbs.  Kira weighs 30 lbs.  Sofie weighs 25 lbs and Noah weighs 24 lbs.
  • We had a lesson on tithing for FHE since the kids have been earning money.  It was so cute.  We helped them prepare the slip and explained what it means.  Then on the next Sunday, they proudly gave their tithing to the Bishop.
  • Disaster!  Someone left a red crayon in the dirty laundry basket of kids clothes.  I didn't know and washed and dried it with all of the clothes.  So there was red splotches on 80% of their clothes.  It took me hours to pretreat and scrub red crayon out the clothes, then wash it again.  Thankfully, it came out and we didn't have to buy new clothes for them.  It was not fun.
  • We got the big kids training wheel bikes!!
  • Memorial Day...we went to a ward picnic.  Lots of fun.
  • So that's it for May...just living life.  Birthdays, bikes and more.  :)

Happy Birthday Sofie and Noah!

Sofie and Noah turned 2!  We had a fun time celebrating with them.
I took Isak and Kira to the Dollar Store to pick out gifts and then they wrapped them.  So we were ready for their birthday.
After naps we opened gifts...They weren't sure what was going on.
Kira was very helpful...

Sofie loved getting her own ball and cup from Isak and Kira.  She carried them around for a long time.
We also got them three peg puzzles, a cash register, v-tech car track and a stroller and two books.
Our neighbor friend came over for a bit and we did a craft and ate lunch.
After a sloppy joe dinner we had angel food cake with strawberries.  The babies loved the dessert!  Yay!  Although the candles scared Sofie...

We also got them their forward facing car seats.  No more infant seats for our family!!

Big change!  It was a great day and we are so grateful to have these two kiddos in our family!!

Sunday Pictures in May 2018

I try to take Sunday pictures...probably every other Sunday.  So here are a few...
Isak likes to make this face now...:)

Kira and Sofie match dresses.  Isak and Noah have purple suits.  I love to match.  It was still a bit chilly so that's why Kira and Sofie have their sweaters and tights on.
"You're taking family pics?"  Noah just wanted to play.
And he was very mad when we went inside and I tried to get one on the stairs...
Pretty Kira.  We even painted her fingernails purple.

Just a sweetie.
Isak was having a bit of a hard time.
He's on the verge of crying...poor kid.
I love Sofie and Kira's outfits.  Pink tops and ice cream skirts!!
Noah did not want to participate.

Sisters!

Isak boy.

And that's all for Sunday pics.
