Happy Halloween!

I really enjoy all of the fall fun.  Pumpkins, crinkly leaves, apples, the colors and even though it is a bit of a pain and stressful the costumes and trick or treating.

I took a few pics with the kids in their fall outfits.  Isak gave me this great smile. :)
It was a little bright outside, so my timing wasn't that great.

Playing with the one little tree in the front yard.

Fifty pictures (or close to it!) later and I was still getting this from them...
With a little bribery I got this.

AND Finally they are both looking at the camera and smiling!!
For Halloween this year, my sister Melissa invited us to go with her family and my other sister Mandi's family.  It was so fun to be with family.  Even though it was a short drive both kids fell asleep holding their Halloween buckets.
After eating some yummy chili and rolls we got the kids in their costumes.  This year for costumes, my sister Kari let us borrow her daughters adorable bumble bee costume for Kira.  I had no idea what to do for Isak.  So one day while we were eating I explained Halloween and costumes and asked him what he wanted to be.  He thought for a second and then excitedly yelled, "A Tractor!" Oh, okay!  I looked up ideas online and he was pretty excited.  So we got to work.  Nels cut the box and painted it.  I put it together and bought him a flannel shirt.  He loved it!! I think it turned out pretty cute too.
Although he couldn't sit down in it.  :)

I love how happy he is!
And even Kira is happy too.

The kids caught on quickly of how this getting candy thing worked.  And boy did they have fun!
It was a memorable halloween.

Birthday Retreat Continued

The next morning we got up bright and early...not really but before 8 a.m. and ate some yummy breakfast.  Then we ventured out to find a place to hike.

At the hotel they had this cute outdoor area with a fire, benches and chairs.
It was cold, so we bundled up.  We found a great place to hike just a few miles from our hotel.

We were pretty excited to be hiking.

The sun was coming through the trees so prettily.

It was an easy trail, just right for us out of shape people.
We just loved the scenery and blue sky with white clouds.

I don't know why, but I like taking pictures of our shoes and feet.
After our hike, we loaded up and drove back to Rexburg.  We ate lunch at Millhollow, a great little sandwich and yogurt shop.  Then we went to the temple.
After the temple, we picked up Papa Murphy's pizza for the family and headed back to our kids.
It was a fun getaway.  It's February right now and I still think about that trip and the fun memories we created.  I am so glad we got to go.  We got great reports on Isak and Kira.  Their grandparents said they were very good and listened to them.  Hopefully they were telling the truth and it wasn't too terrible.  :)  My mom is awesome and sent me pictures while we were gone so I could see what the kids were doing.  They seemed pretty happy to me.  :)
Grandma kept them busy with coloring and stickers.  My parents are putting new siding on their house.  The guy helping him brought his son.  I think he is four...anyways...he was cold and came inside.  My mom was nice and took care of him for the day.  So that is who is sitting by Isak.
And they spent time outside playing with balls and the teeter totter.
They ate yummy yogurt and snacks.
Kira made herself right at home and played with her toys.
Isak loved the strawberries and muffins for breakfast.
And of course, they loved all of the puzzles.
Ice cream will help any situation. :)
Grandma even bought some new play dough toys that kept them occupied for a while.
Outside again, they picked dandelions.
Isak rode on the lawnmower with grandpa.

Sliding down the slide.
Grandpa even built them a teepee!

See...The twins were in excellent hands.  Thanks again grandma and grandpa!!
My mom took this picture when we all got back together again.
We left after church on Sunday and the kids fell right to sleep for almost three hours!  I thought it was so funny how Kira's sunglasses are sliding down her face.
We stopped by my sister Kari's house.  She fed us a yummy dinner and we enjoyed catching up.
Then we drove home...the last hour turned into two with terrible traffic.  Luckily the kids were good and fell asleep again.
My mom made these adorable collages of our trip up there.

Lots of happy memories.  A few days after we came home, Isak had a meltdown and cried, "I want to go to Idaho."  haha.  We all had a wonderful time!
