7 Month

June 11, 2013 the babies turned 7 months old!
7 months came with our first experience with teething.  Two words...not fun.  haha.  Poor babies.  I'm grateful for Orajel and Tylenol.  At 7 months, they both got their two front bottom teeth.

Here are some pictures.  I think you can definitely see their personalities shining through.

Isak is my little explorer.  He started to crawl and he can get into a sitting position.  He does man push ups!
He endures Mom's photo shoots...love this face.
He grabs at anything and everything...as you can see from this picture.
No bear, no sign...please smile Isak....and he just laughs at me.
Love this face, maybe he's thinking, "Silly mom!"
Isak is also a little cuddler.  He just loves to sit and snuggle.  My favorite too.
That's our Isak boy.  Oh, did you notice his hair is red!
Kira is still a little princess.  "What do you want me to do mom?  I'm confused?"
"Oh Smile!  Got it."  Kira smiles at everyone.  When I take her picture and say "Kira, smile."  80% of the time she does!

Absolutely LOVE this picture.

Kira is sitting up better, but she can't get into this position on her own yet.  She gets up on all 4's, but not crawling yet.  When I pick her up she immediately turns to face outward.  She has to see what's going on.  She loves to be on Dad's shoulders or in his arms, basically she loves being with Dad.

Together these babies make me laugh.  They watch and learn from each other.
The sign is so distracting!
 So are the bears
Finally, I got Kira to look at me.
Isak is sort of looking at me.

Aw, finally both of them looking at me!  Success!
I tried to get one with them next to the bear like I did in previous months.  Isak just wanted to sit.
Kira actually laid down for 1.5 seconds.
 And together...I didn't have a chance.
I love my mobile 7 months old.

Some Smiles for the Day

Wrap up for May pictures
One morning the babies woke up so happy...so here's a picture.
Happy Mother's Day!  My first real Mother's Day!  I love being a mom and I love my two beautiful babies too.
Far Mor (Nels's Mom) came to visit for Memorial Weekend.  Those babies just love grandparents!
Far Far got some big old laughs out of Kira.
She was worn out from all that laughing and fell asleep at the restaurant.
One day we took silly pictures of our family of four.
One day I took pictures of this cute girl while she waited for her turn in the tub.

Summer clothes yah!  I love the ice cream cone onesie on Kira.  It looks like I caught Isak in the middle of explaining something.
We get asked a lot if our twins are identical.  I try to be polite and say, one is a boy and one is a girl.  But some still insist that they can be identical...:)  So here's a picture.  I don't think they look the same.  I think they look like a brother and sister.  What do you think?

Eating and Playing

We introduced oatmeal cereal to the babies in May.  Here's a few pictures that show exactly how the babies felt about it.
Kira obviously does NOT like it.  She started out blowing bubbles in it.  Then she actually tasted the cereal.  And that's the face she gave us. haha....so cute.
Isak did all right eating the cereal but he hated the bib.
Nels's first time feeding the babies.
Poor Kira girl...
We're moving on to vegetables and fruits...hopefully they will enjoy those foods more.

Isak and Kira love to play.  Here's a few pictures of what they like to do.
Isak was propped up for this picture taken back in May.  But today...in July he actually will pull himself up!
Isak stuck under the coffee table.
Kira stuck under the coffee table.  They both love to do this.  They will just hang out there for a little while and either free themselves or cry for help.
Isak exploring Kira's bouncy seat.
He needed a good look...so silly.
New toys...a purse and an elephant.  The purse had jingling noises that they loved.  For a minute they both tried to take the purse.

But they like both toys.
I love watching them play and interact with each other.

Moving...Again. :)

We moved...again!  We are now in Charlotte, NC.  It's been a long couple of months.  But as of today I have about 15 boxes left to unpack, plus the garage.  Ah!  It will get done one of these days.

So we drove to Charlotte in May to look for a house.  The babies did so awesome traveling and looking at houses all day.  I was so amazed and grateful.  We did find a house...obviously.  :)  I didn't take many pictures of our first road trip with the babies.  But here's some from the hotel.

This is a game I discovered one day.  I lay the babies next to each other and then throw a blanket in the air.  It lands on their faces and I pull the blanket off and then repeat.  The babies just laugh and smile.  I love it.  Kira is funny; she always looks at Isak to see if he's enjoying it as much as she is.  So cute.

Here's Nels playing the blanket game with them in the hotel room:
They were pretty tired, but they still smiled. :)

The babies even slept through the night in the hotels cribs.  Yah! :)

Here's the house we found.  4 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms.  So Kira and Isak have their own room now.
Love the porch.  We'll have to buy some chairs or a swing some day.
Backyard...small and manageable.  I love that it backs up to trees.
Nels was pretty happy.
Love the kitchen and it. has. a. pantry!!!  Hooray!

The best part is Nels has a less than 10 minute commute to work!  Definitely a Pro!
So that was our big accomplishment in May we bought a house in Charlotte.  We also prepared our house to sell.  We had about 8 house showings and we sold the house!  Hooray!

6 Months

6 Months already.  This was the fastest half of year I have ever lived!  haha.  Although, now the babies are close to 8 months!  I'm going to try and catch up over the next couple of days...we'll see if it actually happens.  So far, 6 months old has been my absolute favorite.  They are super cute, sleep through the night, are trying new things and they aren't yet mobile...other than rolling around.

Here's a few pictures to document 6 months old.
Thank you Brandi for helping me get some cute smiles and taking some of the pictures too!
Little Kira girl...Brandi also made the beautiful hat!  So talented.

All about Kira at 6 months

  • At the 6 month appointment Kira weighed 13 lbs. 10 oz. and was 25 1/4 inches tall.
  • She's an expert at rolling round, moving in a circle on her belly and reaching for toys.
  • She's really good at playing now and focuses on what she's doing.
  • She eats 6 oz. and occasionally 7 and 8, four times a day
  • She sleeps about 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with 2 naps during the day and one really short one in the evening.
  • She loves to suck her lip/tongue
  • She has to smile and laugh so many times a day.

Handsome Isak baby boy.

  • Isak puts himself to sleep now.  Yah! He sleeps the same amount as Kira
  • He eats 7 to 8 oz. 4 times a day.
  • He gets up on his hands and knees.
  • He started to notice Kira's toys and tries to take them!
  • At the 6 month appointment he weighed 15 lbs 6 oz. and was 27 inches tall.
  • He's a pretty happy boy.

All together now.
They both love to get stuck under things like coffee tables and chairs.  They love to swat things with their hands from the floor to books to toys.  They both love to pick up a toy and then drop it far away from them. Then they pivot around on their bellies to pick it up.  They also love peek a boo.
I love how Isak is raising his hand.  My friend Sharolyn made the adorable headband that Kira is wearing.  Thanks Sharolyn!
They are so funny how they move the same...and I love when they hold hands...even when it's on accident.

Oh my babies...growing up too fast.
Very adventurous and curious.

So tall!
She's just a little petite thing. :)

Happy Six Months!
