Thanksgiving and Hike Around Radnor Lake

Happy Thanksgiving!
In the morning we all took a walk and picked up sticks!

Why?  You'll find out.  Haha.

Kira drew and colored this huge turkey so we could play pin the wattle (the red thing over the turkey's beak) on the turkey.

Meanwhile, Sofie and Noah helped me cut out leaves to put on our sticks.
We tied green yarn on each of the leaves.  There were almost 50 of them.
The kids wrote things they were grateful for and it was our gratitude tree this year.

Sofie and Noah colored turkeys at school too.
Then we went to a friend's house for thanksgiving dinner.  We brought sweet potato casserole (my first time making and thankfully it was delicious!), strawberry poppyseed salad, stuffing and Costco mac and cheese.  Oh, and pumpkin bars!
Here's Sofie and Noah at the kids table.
Isak and Kira at the tweens and teens table.
And me and Nels with our friends.  The food was great and I ate a ton!  They had turkey and ham and all of the trimmings.  They also had banana pudding pie.  Mmmm.
The turkey game was a hit!
We ate and talked for a while and then we came home and relaxed.
Friday after Thanksgiving, we went to Radnor Lake and hiked the 3 mile loop.
It was a beautiful easy walk/hike.

I loved seeing the lake through the trees.

We saw deer, chipmunk, squirrels, eagles and ducks.

It was a very enjoyable time together.
Then we came home and relaxed.  Nels got us McAlister's for dinner.  :)
It was so nice to have Nels home for four whole days too!
