Day 2--
We started bright and early. We were out the door at 8:15 a.m. We went to the Visitor Center first to get tickets for the things we wanted to do that day.
While we waited for the Visitor Center to open, I took pictures, of course! Here's Abi and Sofie in their matching shirts.
The shirt says, "Ruffle some Feathers" So Sofie!!
"Adventure is Calling" for Tyler and Isak.
Noah wasn't cooperating so Isak took a picture with Nathan. Nathan and Noah's shirt say, "Let's go explore everything."
And Kira and Lynzie. So cute!!!
Our next stop was to the Brickyard.
We learned about brick making from our favorite missionary, our niece Sister Swensen!!
It was awesome to see her!
We loved watching her and listening to her presentation.
Then we went to the Scovil Bakery, then we went on the carriage ride around Nauvoo. The kids liked the horses.
We went to the Blacksmith.
Sofie and Noah were kind of done. So sucker time!
Aren't they cute. They enjoyed the break.
We ate lunch at Mills Bakery. We got huge ice cream cones too.
A definite highlight for the kids. 😀
It even cheered up our Noah Boy.
We went to the Print Shop. Sofie and Noah were still struggling...so I stayed outside with them. Isak and Nathan got to be helpers. 👍
This is what the carriage ride looks like.
Then we went to the kids favorite place. The pioneer past times. There were all sorts of kids activities. Kira and Sofie dressed up like pioneers.
Kira loved this wood horse.
Noah found this sheep to snuggle and pretend like he was sleeping. Haha.
Cutest pioneer children!
Both girls loved this wood horse. Sofie would say, "yee-haw!!"
A miniature bowling game.
And some other games too. Here's Isak and Nathan with a game.
We went on a wagon ride and listened to pioneer stories.
Here is a before shot...
And after...babies zonked out!!
We went to the 4 pm showing of The Promise. The young performing missionaries did an excellent job. The babies got a lot of suckers to keep them quiet. haha. Here's one of the performers we spoke to afterwards. She let Kira wear her bonnet. 😊
Then we learned how the pioneers made rope, bread and candles at the Family Living Center.
We played at the playground. Mosquitos were bad so we didn't stay long.
We took Sister Swensen and her companion to El Camino Real for dinner and then Dairy Queen for some blizzards.
This picture is of the Sister missionaries sharing a lesson at Dairy Queen. 😀
It was a great day!
